yeny is under attack!

Bleh. As far as I am concerned, I went through and read the first page of replys and was actually quite impressed at how well it did. Many people were quite open to the comic itself. It just happens to be a few morons who have no idea what they are talking about and have to jab the comic because no one really was at first. Keep up the good work ozzy, always nice to know you like to expand your horizon that much more. :bowing:

🙁 🙁 I wish it was an attack carried out by wiggling toes and spider-fingers....😛 😛

Remember this: Critics are generally stiff upper-lipped and anally retentive... just like most British people! 😛 In the tickling artwork community, Ozzy is a legend. Why would that knock his confidence when he's loved big time in the TMF?

Well, first of all, I want to thank Jezzica for her concern.
Actually, Yenny is and is not under a critic attack right now.
I just wanted to see the reaction of the mainstream comic readers to Yenny. As you can see, most of the replies have been pretty harsh and others have been positive. Yenny has grown inside the community, but part of the new projects are to expand her horizons and explore new terrains, but in order to do that, some research has to be done first. Of course, that doesn't mean that your comments at the CJF won't be needed. All good feedback will be good and healthy.
I appreciate your concern once more. (In fact, I don't know how did jezica found that thread in the comic journal forum. Are you Jenny, by any chance?)

Take care all!
Ozzy

Yes Ozzy, I take care.

But where is the pencil sketch that you promised me????????😕

Jenny? You better jog your memory. Mas vale que recuerdes quien soy.😉 okaay?

I have read the Comics Journal from time to time and as a testing ground for new material it is akin to throwing yourself to the lions. Ozzy is to be commended for this. He could have taken the easy way out and gone to Wizard where the fanboys would have seen a cute girl with unrealistic physical proportions and been very positive. To be honest, knowing what TCJ can be like, I didn't think the response was too bad.

Way to go Ozzy! Hope Yenny does well for you (but don't forget Sonya!)

well I sopose it can seem odd to those who are not into that kinda thing, as a comic book reader the first thing I look for is good art work and a good story. Hay Qzzy maybe u should try giving her some special powers or a giant robot to comand, ok maybe thats over doing it a bit, but the character her self has a lot of potential, think of it a big Y signal in the sky. Ah well whatever the out come, both u an Yenny will always be #1 here.

Well.if Yenny does go mainstream she can always be the first ticklish superheroine right? Ozzy that did take courage to post her on a comics forum Well done

*Laughs* Hey, I agree with the critic thing, but I'm origanlly from England 😛

Thanks for all the supporting words here. Yenny grew up inside the community and , yes, posting the likes of her in the most critical, most harsh and most cruel forum in the universe took a lot of guts. But I believe the effort was okay, since at the end, Yenny earned new positive critics and new fans.
It's an exciting process. Thanks to you, I've been confident to take this step and I hope for good things this year.

Congradulations anyway Ozzy, it did seem like alot of people had some nice things to say ^^x

Personally I think Yenny is adorable, the way you have her act and talk is charming to me. I'm putting aside the tickling.

I read the postings there and that is a different crowd there. And considering the critics there, I thought you took a nice jump in getting Yenny notice. I would enjoy reading a comic script of her with no tickling... hell I already know she's ticklish so I wouldn't ever have to wish her being tickled in a future comic strip. 🙂

Not as a ticklephile but as a lover of cartoons and comic art.... Yenny is way cute! And I love that she's Puerto Rican. 😉

I love the artwork example you showed to that forum, the colors were very sharp. I prefer it over black and white. 🙂

I appreciate your comment, Dark. The Comics Journal Forum is one of three different mainstream forums that I made the experiment and thank goodness, she went well in the other two.
The Comic Journal Forum is full of not only harsh critics, but many frustrated comic artists that take it on those who already published something. Jelousy? Anger? Bad stomach? Who knows?

PS: TO JEZZICA: Yes I remember...😉 hola.

I've loved Yenny since I 1st saw her - okay, the 4 toes affliction freaks me out a little, but she's just a drawing, I tell myself..... anyway, I like Yenny and I gave the Comics Journal folks a little bit of my opinion. It comes straight from me - someone who isn't in the comics industry, doesn't follow the comics industry, has no specific favorite artist or style, and, in fact, cannot even read.

So there.

I see the concept you got going on in the strips you posted there and personally from a mainstream point of view I like it. She can get tickled alot the situations just need to be unique. The last two you posted in particular were hilarious, and remember she doesn't neccessarily need to be tickled in every strip (even though folks around here would love it) when your writing a mainstrem comic. Just my thoughts, not trying to tell you how to do your job or anything.
