Heh.
I grew up in the 80's, first getting into cricket properly for the 1989 Ashes series, which was the first of about seven consecutive ones won by Australia by humiliatingly large margins. The rest of the world's professional ethic was cresting, just as the last guard of our old fart-blazer&tie-amateurs was dying. Sadly, it took fifteen or twenty years to bury the legacy of pricks like Ted Dexter and Ray Illingworth before we got to do anything decent.
