I've concluded that this is some extremely elaborate joke. You are arguing that this is a government clip because you want to see if you can actually convince anyone stupid enough to believe this.

But somehow, this debate is amusing, so I will continue. Why in the world would the government want us to know whether some girl is more ticklish barefoot, with a hose, or tickled by a feather?!?! Answer me this, and I might be more convinced.

Also, you seem to be the only person that believes this. Let's take a vote, everyone. Who thinks this clip is sponsored by the government???????

Don't get your panties in a wad, omnifeller. ddd was being completely sarcastic in his previous posts. All of us here are pretty sure that this series of video clips has nothing to do with any sort of government-conducted experiment. I believe the government would at least be wise enough to employ the use of BONDAGE!

Why would I have to convince anyone of what I am saying? The actual character of the video is manifest to most folks. If you look back carefully over this thread you'll see that I'm just trying to clarify the truth, since some have insisted that this is not a government thing.

But to answer your question, I'm sure Dr. Nikki was selected by the government as this experiment's subject on the basis of a variety of appropriate physiological measures. In other words, scientifically-speaking she is not just "some girl," but likely represents a great cross-section of the American female population. Now, if you've been following information appearing over the last few years in mainstream media outlets, you would have learned that tickling has been involved in discussions of important medical conditions such as ADHD and schizophrenia (google them and see). Tickling has also been mentioned in studies of pain and itch responses in human beings. Getting a better handle on ticklishness, therefore, could have enormous practical value in medicine (not to mention in the ladies garment industry), beyond the interest it obviously generates in the realm of "pure science" and the simple quest for knowledge. I think our government is smart enough to understand all this, budget some money, hire trained researchers like Tina and Nikki, register on YouTube, and so forth.

I'm quite surprised, however, at your call for a "vote"--as though questions of truth and falsehood could be decided by mere popular opinion as opposed to reason and the marshalling of evidence. And I thought you were an admirer of science!
