OK, don't really know how to place an intro to this thread, so I'll just go straight:
It's about tea. Do you like it, and if so, what are your favorite flavors (being that there are really LOADS of them)? Stuff like that.

So, to begin, I like tea. Tea good for me. And my favorite flavors are Orange with cinnamon, Earl Gray and Wild Cherry.

Can't beat a nice cup of Tetleys. 😛 Good old fashioned plain tea.

Although if I'm feeling particularly fancy, I like Earl Grey (hot) and spearmint, the latter of which is entirely TKLVR18's fault.

My friend once gave me original Chinese Green tea... it is served in dried leaves that are poured over by hot water... you have to drink it three times before it is fully effective, and by that time the leaves are open and are ready to be chewed. Let me tell you this... after few cups of that I was hyperactive for the whole damn day!

My favorite is the Picard special: Earl Grey, hot!

I also like English Breakfast and some of the mint flavored teas. Can't stand the herbal junk, though.

The flavored ones are okay, but I'll take any regular Tetley's or Lipton iced tea with so much sugar, you can stand the spoon up in it.

So, you'd love real Southern "Sweet Tea" then....usually pours like maple syrup...

Every time I'm down there, it's the first thing I go get. And when you ask for it, they're not surprised like they are up north.

What exactly do you mean about the "you have to drink it three times before it is fully effective"-part? I didn't even know that people eat the leaves! Do they still tell fortunes with the tea leaves? If so, how does that work?

I'm afraid I'm already too enslaved to the bean to ever make the switch to the leaves. I wish I could, as I imagine that tea is probably better for you than coffee. I have no idea if that's true. Sheer conjecture, there.

Well this is the process... you put the dried leaves into cup and add hot water for the first time... they will slowly start to open and rejuvenate back to their normal looks. You must drink it while it is hot, and without sugar, so it has a bitter taste, but a pleasant one. After first one, you repeat the process two more times, and at the third times, the leaves are fully open and are overwhelming your cup... you can eat them, it is enjoyable, but unless you are crazy like me you don't have to. After that you are as hyper as a Buggs Bunny.

Wow, that informative, thanks for that.
I don't drink anything other than regular tea to be honest. I did try Earl Gray once, it wasn't bad. Twinings has such a large range of quality teas that I really should experiment more.

Hmm... I see Earl Grey is quite popular tea. Do you guys drink it with or without milk? I sometimes put it in, sometimes don't.

Yeah the only tea I ever drink sans milk is spearmint - and I put a whole heap of sweetner in that.

no milk or cream...occasional lemon, depending on what typoe of tea it is

Tea with sugar... and milk... blasphemy! A good tea is good enough alone...

I like naturally brewed Green Tea. I have a bunch of that stuff which I got from Japan. It's great stuff.

Yes, I love tea. 🙂 My favorite kind, though, is plain, strong black tea (British Breakfast is a good example), possibly with a hint of honey or sugar in it if I'm feeling fancy. But the stronger the better. Good thing that's easy to find just about anywhere!
