I read every Hardy Boys book published between 1959 and 1966 or so. And being the odd child I loved the novels by Mika Waltari. These were not written for children. Bonus points if you have heard of him. 😉

There were the old classic's such as Through The Looking Glass and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

I read a lot of the Hardy Boys books also.

And anything by Dr. Seuss!!!

Other than my Mad Magazine subscription my favorite read was a box set that my Mom bought me in the mid 60's consisting of The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Ring trilogy. Before that I was hooked on Dr. Suess.

My mom used to read this to me every night before bed, it was very special and is still special to me now 🙂. <3

For our prospective arrival, I'm going to be lining up all the ones I had- the Seuss classics, as well as P.D. Eastman's Go Dog Go, and maybe a Curious George or two...

I was very big on Roald Dahl as a kid. My favorite book of his was The Witches but I also adored The BFG.

My dad used to read me a few pages from The Hobbit every night before bed when I was a wee one so that holds a special place too.

Nancy Drew. Goosebumps. Fear Street. Are you my mother? Along came a spider. Running with the demon. Lion witch and the wardrobe books. Into the Land of the Unicorn. Witch By Christopher Pike. The Young Jedi Series. Then in highschool I really liked a book called Lost Souls, by Poppy Z Brite.

My favorite books as a child were the science fiction series that all had "Tom Swift" in the title. I must have read around 15 of them. If I had to pick one, then it would be "Tom Swift and His Outpost in Space" (1955).
