Was just wondering what sites everyone uses for deals.

I use Hautelook.com and Gilt.com for designer clothes at a discount.

Amazon.com and ebay.com for standard stuff. Actually I don't have too many!

How about you guys? Where do you go when looking for a deal?

I buy a lot of books, films and music from Amazon. In fact, a bunch of stuff came in the mail today. 😀 For most everything else I try to stay local, and often buy from thrift stores. Oh, and I use Priceline or Hotwire if I'm traveling.

I use Groupon for all kinds of things: restaurants, vacation packages, activities, stuff.
They give me ideas I would never have thought of at discounts of 50% or more.

Abebooks.com for out of print books.

For looking for deals on my tank models,I search different forums in the classified sections.

Groupon is cool, but I forget to check it often enough to really use it.

Mommysavesbig.com has tons of coupons that you can print out or online discount codes for a bunch of different websites. I've saved a pretty decent amount of money by going there before making any online purchases.

Lastly, onesaleaday.com has I think 4 different categories and they have one sale a day in each category. I haven't bought anything from there yet, but stuff seems to be pretty significantly discounted.

Oh, I've seen commercials for some website called quibids.com, where you're supposed to be able to get shit ridiculously discounted. I went on it one day and the catch seems to be that you have to purchase the bids before you can use them. They're inexpensive, but they make you buy a bunch at a time. I've never done it because I haven't taken the time to figure out if it's worth it, but if it's not a scam and what they say is true it seems like a pretty bitchin' site. Big "if", though.

Great thread! 🙂

I almost forgot travelzoo.com! This is a must for travelers. Go to the site and sign up. They'll send you weekly e-mails showing you travel deals out of your area. Some are major steals!

Thanks GQ. 😀

Thanks GQ. 😀

Hope you find a good deal on there! Don't let your wife/significant other near it though. Last thing you need is the woman you love convincing you take advantage of a cheap trip to some place you already want to go! Dangerous combination. Trust me.

I have neither, so I'm safe. 😉

My favorite deal site? The classified section of the local newspaper (on- or offline) which lists the garage sales! One caveat: Check stuff out carefully, and don't be tempted to buy stuff just because it's there and it's cheap (take it from someone who knows!).
