I Suggest You Read The Constitution Again..

And also the papers that led up to it. Lincoln was clearly within the Constitution when he did not allow the secession of the Southern States.

Read the book, 'The Real Lincoln', I forget the author but the book sheds a lot of light on his presidency. The southern states didn't just secede over-night, they told Lincoln they wanted to have more rights, but rather than take it to Congress and discuss it, with both Congress and the southern states, he just said flatly no. Several weeks later the states seceded and the Civil War started. Now they had definitely the right to ask. Now I don't know if he had the right to say no or not, but if he did he shouldn't have simply because with some discussion and compromise the worst war in this nations history could have been avoided. You can have your opinion, but that's mine.

And BTW, I wasn't kidding when I said Hitler said Lincoln was one of his role models.

Even if Lincoln did have the right to do what he did, do you really think a Civil War is the only way he could have handled it?
