First name?
I never had a first name. My family was so poor, we couldn't afford first names. We couldn't afford middle names either. All we had was a family nickname, cause that was cheaper than a real name. We were the Gelinktas, which in the old country means lefties, cause all our males were either left handed or ambidextrous.
Only afyter I moved out on my own and got a job could I afford real names, and I got them, first and middle, in English, Hebrew and Russian.
