I'm struggling to pick 3 because I am a bit ecclectic (read: indecisive), so I'll go with the 3 I've liked for the longest; The Jam, The Clash, The Who.

Madness get an honourable mention too. EDIT: Thank you mister Haribo! 😀

EDIT2: OK having reviewed the evidence (i.e listening to Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love and House Of Fun) I'm changing my answer. Madness are the greatest band ever >_<

Come on Bugman, step up to the challenge. I also love all kinds of music, but you still have to have favorites. What are the bands you consistently find yourself going back to, no matter what else you are listening to at any given time?

Were you just being facetious Haribish, or do you really like Dire Straits. I only ask because the bands you listed are considerably harder than them. Not that one can't enjoy all genres of music, I certainly do, but I am genuinely curious.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Mark Knopfler live three times ... to say I think he is the absolute best guitarist of all time is a mild understatement hahaha. If I believed in a God, it would be Knopfler. He's not as fast as Malmsteen or Steve Vai, and I wouldn't exactly consider him popular anymore ... but he never wastes a note, he's an ingenious song writer, and his style and tone are unparalleled.

no no, I LOVE Dire Straits, best driving music ever written, My music taste is very varied.

to jump back to the original question, im gonna have to change my answer.

after some serious thought im going with

1. Avenged sevenfold
2. Dire Straits
3. Iron Maiden

Completely different than last time, but I can bet il have a different 3 tomorrow, I change my mind too often to answer this question well.

None,and i'm being honest.It depends on what i'm in the mood for which could range from Glenn Miller to Ray Charles to the Stones or about one thousand other bands or individual artists i could mention and that could all be in the same day.Then again it could be Beethoven or another classical composer.🙂

3. Aerosmith

That was tough to do, figuring out spots 2 and 3. I gave Aerosmith the nod over the Rolling Stones just because I played Train Kept A Rollin' on Rock Band last night. Could of gone either way. Led Zeppelin should get an honorable mention too.

1. Alice in Chains (Sweet Alice... RIP Layne)
2. Queens of the Stone Age (they've grown on me)
3. Rage Against the Machine (play it, play it LOUD)

I could make an argument or two for a couple others (A7X is just one more kick-ass album away from #3, Slipknot is nipping heels), but I'll just lamenate that list.
