For some reason I'm getting no audio on YouTube videos. I checked to make sure the mute option is not on. Is it possible I somehow changed a setting on my computer? Any advice appreciated.

did ya check the volume on the video it self and on your computer and make sure the audio is working on ya comp

Yep, checked the volume on the videos. I was watching a video and it was fine. I reached over my keyboard for something and I've got no audio since so I'm wondering if my arm bumped something and turned the speakers off. The power light is still on, just no sound.

If you have firefox, check all of your scripts that is a common issue, i had it happen to me

do ya have built in speakers or do ya have the kind u plugin if ya havve the onse ya plug in check to see if ya hit the wire and unplugged it and check to see if mayby u hit the volume button

I use IE, never had this problem. But thanks.

My speakers are plugged in and the volume control is turned all the way up. This is strange, maybe my speakers are blown.

I probably have an old set around. I have to dig through a few boxes.

Either you bumped something, or your speakers blew.

So here is my suggestion. Reach to the back of the PC and make sure the little green wire is plugged into the correct port in the back of your computer. Wiggle it around, secure it, all the while having a video play.

If that doesn't work, restart your computer. If it still doesn't work, I can suggest with confidence that your speakers are done for and the only way to fix the problem is to get new ones.

Can you make any other audio play? For example, if you play an audio file in Windows Media Player, does sound work? If so, then it isn't your speakers (obviously). I've had this happen in Firefox to Youtube before. If I remember correctly, I ended up having to uninstall all version of Adobe's Flash Player and then reinstall the latest version.

In a related note, I am no longer able to view full screen videos on youtube, as far as I know my java is the latest version. What gives?

Java has nothing to do with Youtube (which is good, as Java causes all sorts of troubles). Adobe Flash is the culprit, perhaps. Check http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and see what version it says you have; compare this with the listed, latest version. If you are less than the latest, follow the upgrade instructions.

It may also be a Youtube thing. Have they now made it a requirement to be logged in at Youtube to view things fullscreen? I never do, so I wouldn't know.

I don't know HDS, I've not tried. Thanks to all for the suggestions. I have a call in to my younger brother, also known as free tech support. 😉
