Congrats to him. I actually think its more negative for KC though. He will probably now command more money than the Royals are willing to pay.

Then again, some free agents may now see Kansas City as a potential contender, now that a first-rate pitcher is aboard. World Series contenders are built on solid pitching, bullpen utilities (weak spot), and a great closer, which they have in Soria. Now they need some bats. If the Royals had some decent hitting and less "gas-cans" in the bullpen, Greinke's record would have been higher.
 
Congratulations to Zack Greinke. He well deserved it. 😀

He had to pitch perfect almost every outing. Imagine how many more wins he would have had if he would have gotten more than his 1.5 runs of support. He could have possibly been 23-6 and a lock for the Cy Young. The sportswriters got it right. I'm just glad they realize that there is more to a dominant pitcher than a won/loss record.
