Great White Outing

So traveling to upstate NY seems like such a simple thing... and yet insane at this time of year. I was watching the weather channel like a retiree with nothing better to do. All I could think was please don't let it hit this weekend and leave me stranded up there!

Friday went off smoothly.. sort of. I got out of Cincy safely enough without seeing anything more than a little cold drizzle. Arrived in Philadelphia on time...only to have to wait because our flight crew was stuck in Norfolk, VA. Two hours later... we did get to take off finally. The word was that the airport was closing at 6pm that night. I arrived in Albany... to the screams of Tortuga and CrystalLight. Seeing the two of you just made the whole trip worthwhile :) Ray and Raya really do organize a nice shindig. I want to thank them and Myriads for hosting a well organized event - I'll definitely try to make it again next year and I highly recommend it to all those who are even considering it.

I got to meet Darkhand (finally...even though he lives practically in my back yard) and CrystalLight. I also got to see some "old" friends - Katie (honey your new nickname needs something like insane roadwarrior or something), Danimal, Pat, Ayla, CapnMad and Fireguardian, Milagros, Goth and so many I can't even think of. New folks (for me) Paranoid Chant, Subtle Feather, KraziDog, Snail Shell, Tickle Emperor - great meeting you all!

Albany at least didn't get any of the white stuff.... it was just colder than oh, what was the word... frigid? Yeah, that's what the signs say. It was a weekend of good food, great company, and I was even lucky enough to squeeze in a tickling session.

Of course, nothing ever goes that smoothly. On Sunday, my flight out was cancelled (thanks to the City of Brotherly Love's Snow dumpage). I was lucky enough to get another flight out through NYC. This means I missed all but the 1st quarter of the super bowl. But I made it home safe and sound around 11pm Sunday night. So gatherings in February are feasable... just travel at your own risk!

That it were.

I think I discovered a new fetish.
