My mom had her MRI at the imaging center today. I was allowed to sit in the room with her. The MRI was extremely uncomfortable for mom, and it pained me to watch it. The technican attached an almost hockey or football mask looking piece of headgear to her head and face, and then they took a lot of pictures. The whole procedure took over an hour. During the whole time, mom complained constantly about how uncomfortable the position they had her in was. She's had severe back problems her whole life, and was saying how much lying in the position she was in hurt her back. Finally, after over an hour, the procedure was over. She told me that she was never more happy to get a procedure over with in her life!
Next week she has more procedures to be done. There will be a Cat scan, and a Pet scan. Supposedly, neither of those are as long or as uncomfortable.
