Since the day it debuted in...I think...2004, The Politics & Religion Forum has been the big bummer of the TMF. Now who's idea was that? lol Maybe it seemed like a good idea at the time. Let's see...what was going on in 2004? Ok, ok, I won't go there.....
My initial memory of it is that it was a gloating, bully forum. It made me see all of the other members in a completely different way, people who I'd never had anything but cordial and fun interaction with! And how I must have looked to them! I'd go into that section, I felt like Sacco and Vanzetti!
As it says in the big black book...."Like a dog returns to its own vomit, so a fool repeats his folly."
We all find ourselves in that P&R vortex, getting ourselves and others worked up, and swear it's the last time. Ten minutes later........
The very wise ShippyShippy always keeps it light. I must imitate this man. I can be light! In fact, I am! I mean, there's a time to be heavy, a time to be light......but there's no time in life to be hammering rants onto some obscure back room of a fetish forum.....could there be anything less important?
By the way....where exactly do you find the RELIGION section of the Politics & Religion Forum?!!! lol. Once in a while, all of a sudden, you'll get sermon and Jesus lesson/testimonial in the middle of a thread( it's always a Christian). Just what I want to hear on a fetish forum, lol. That's really the time and place. But other than that, it seems pretty much like JJ's house, he lives there and we just come and visit.
It may need a name change also, isn't it now really just the Trump Forum?! lol. Are there any threads about anything else in there? It should be changed to the To Trump Or Not To Trump forum.
I've never had my mind changed by any TMF member in a thread about politics. I can't think of a single thing. Hmmmm. Ok, well....that's not true...sometimes people make good points........I saw Wolf make a great point recently.....but wait....I already agree with Wolf! So that's not the same thing!
Believe me, I know I've been over the top with ugliness in there. It's always a pleasure to express some of that anger and disgust to people who I think deserve it......but the Forum don't need dat, do it? Especially when I find myself turning my guns on people who are my friends and with whom I'm already agreeing!(chicago) Or at least respect! (tenebrae, sensualswitch). Blimey!
Listen.....I'm not actually suggesting getting rid of that beloved section of the TMF, or have any notion of waging a campaign about it.....but holy crap, if I woke up tomorrow and it wasn't there? The first thing I'd do would be to bring those guys a drink of water.
