Just to clarify...

Actually it makes sense. The effect the cold weather on the barometric pressure changes the way sound travels through it so you not only look at your environment differently, but it also SOUNDS different, and this can subconsciously put you in a different mood, thus affecting the way you write. The melting snow creates wet surfaces and unusual colors (it picks up dirt and stuff) which give an accentuated texture to everyday things and that can be very inspiring.

Plus, when it's winter you wanna stay inside and what else is there to do when you stay inside? Besides the obvious.

I hate spontaneous creativity because it always happens in places LIKE a bus or train when you don't have pads and laptops open to write/type it down. That's why I always wear a jacket everywhere I go so I can stuff a notepad in it for when it happens. But it's still annoying because it basically means your brain is always coming up with stuff when you're bored and relaxed, which you almost never are when you try to focus on writing...which means your best stuff never happens when you want it to. ARGH-ITY!

I think you're right. It definitely feels like the opening of a story to me. I rarely ever can write a piece of something and then go back to it, or try to fit it into other things, but, I'm gonna save this.

I like your poem as it is. It reads kind of like a haiku, but with more syllables. And if you decide to expand upon it, well, I'd love to see what you eventually turn it into!

I didn't write it as a poem, I wrote it in hopes that something more would come of it, but when I couldn't come up with anything, I thought it might be ok as is.
