I just got done watching Marley & Me for the first time.
...
I have not cried that much since ... well, since I can't even remember when! If you've never owned a dog, or lost a dog, I dunno if you can really get into this movie. Seriously, me and my roomie just bawled our eyes out for the last 30 minutes of the movie.
But, Marley reminded me so much of my old dog Missy. Marley was a golden lab, Missy was a black lab. I loved Missy so much. I miss her a lot. Whenever I would go to my dads house I would always chill with Missy. She would come watch me draw, or I would draw her. We'd watch T.V together and she would always rest her head on me. She was such a good dog!
When I first met her, I was around 6, maybe 7 years old, and I was so scared of her. She would jump on me and at the time I thought she was trying to kill me ... but she was just super friendly. I would run away from her or lock myself in the bathroom. People had to carry me everywhere because I was so afraid she was going to attack me. Then one day we just clicked! I was eating dinner and she was sitting next to me. I fed her off the spoon. Nobody saw me doing it, I wasn't supposed to. I would give her a bite, and then I would take a bite. Sounds disgusting, I know. I was like 6 though so shut up! But after that we were just best friends.
I haven't really been close to a dog since then. I love Onyx to death, but she isn't very loveable. Ever since my sister had her kids she gets super jealous. I don't live there anymore and everyone back at the house treats her like crap in my opinion. They yell at her for just about everything. I mean she'll just be laying in the kitchen minding her own business and someone will yell at her and tell her to move because "she is in the way". Bullshit. I always try to give her lots of treats and attention when I am home, though. I love that dog.
Angel & Missy 🙂
