I can relate. I'm looking for a new apartment, and toured an alleged "two bedroom" the other day. Hmm... How to describe it..? Perhaps file it under "Perverse Joke"...

The "second bedroom" was an oversized landing for the stairs, which led to the bathroom -- the doorway to which I had to duck under in order to get in. The advertised deck had a scenic view of a vast junkyard (the property owner's a mechanic, and runs a "You Pull It" lot), and the whole interior smelled of vintage cat urine.

As tempted as I was to give it a go to have something proper to gripe about on a daily basis, I passed. I wish you and your sister better fortune than mine.
