What a difference a year makes. Last year on this date I was moody, depressed and feeling mighty low. Today I feel awesome and happy and excited about the new year to come.
Birthdays are a celebration of the day we were born. Now 37 years later I can say withought a doubt that I am happy I was brought into this world. I grew up with a great family life and a fun childhood. I have had some ups and downs, some triumphs and some failures. I have enjoyed some great love, yet I have endured the heartache of losing loved ones.
When I was born, Nixon was president, The Bee Gees were a hit and gas was $0.53 a gallon. Now We have our first African American President, I hae no idea what band is at the top of the charts and Gas is more expensive than one could imagine.
I am still young yet I am old enough to realize that the songs I listened to when I was a kid are now on oldies stations. The world I knew as a child seems like ages ago but I take solice in one fact. The fact that I am a friend to many and I am befriended by many. I have a lot of love in my heart and so many people to show that love to. I really am a lucky man. Everything I have gone through in this life has made me the man I am today.
