    the point i am stating is that, when an understanding has been reached, it seems like a failure to forgive past wrongdoings by banning someone for old news. it seems like a lack of forgiveness.

    The purpose of a ban is to stop hostile or harrassing behavior - oftentimes a warning suffices first, as no ops were present, no warning took place. to give a permanent ban for exchanging words that three people took offense to - is a penalty that simply doesn't fit the crime. what exactly warranted the banning? outing jenny as a man? that's but an open secret in the chatrooms.

    thank you for your consideration. the moment at which i was banned, there was no fighting happening, some chatters were still upset, perhaps rightfully, but i was in the middle of a pleasant conversation and not at that moment threatening or harrassing anyone. in over 7 years I haven't had a breach of the chatroom, nevermind been called on one. the events that transpired on the night of the ban were ones that i should have taken steps to prevent, but largely an unusual occurrence that i resolve will never happen again, shall the perma-ban be altered.

    i appreciate your acknowledgement of my long involvement, but the fight that broke out in chat was owing to a misunderstanding and the conversation was well under control before ops stepped in and banned me. the conflict was resolved.
