  • About your story, the description was precisely why I enjoyed so much. Too many people on this site just want the quick thrill and don't really care about the story. They only want the moneyshot. Personally, I want to read a story. So in my opinion your story was a very good ratio. I think that stories can entertain both the brain and the body.

Reading your last few stories inspired me to get cracking on my own story. I have the second chapter written in my mind. I just need to put it down on "paper".
Ah Louis XIV, "I am the State." :ayyy: He certainly lived a full life, brought France to it's golden age, built Versailles, etc. I'd love to visit that place. It would have been nice to be a fly on the wall in the French court. As for the Louis XVI he was just king at the wrong time. There was no turning around the revolution. That was a powderkeg which fumed for too long.

I read your latest story last night. It was very good. :feather:
The French monarchy is a hoot. :super_hap So much politics and the various dynasties like the Bourbons and the Valois. With France pretty being well in the midst of Europe there's a guarantee that there is always something interesting going on. :bouncy: Plus you have cool things like infants ruling for 5 days and Philip the Fair unintentionally giving rise to the myth of Friday the 13th by executing going after the Knights Templar.
The Patriot was an awesome flick. Gibson was great in that one and in Braveheart too. Apacalypto was also pretty good as well. He's come a long way from Mad Max. I didn't know that they made a film about Luther. That one I need to track down. Elizabeth was also a really good one as well. British history is always fun, poor Mary Queen of Scots she got a bad rap. 😀
I am a bit of WWII buff. I also would have thought that I would have wanted to go see Valkyrie. However, the thought of Tom Cruise playing a hero of the Prussian military elite seems a tad underwhelming. I nothing against Cruise, it just doesn't sit well with me. Do you have any favorite films which were historically true to form?
Well back is the important word there. I see that you liked that Benjamin Buttons movie. I didn't realize that was based on a F. Scott Fitzgerald story. I'll have to check it out.
your stories were fantastic..i read them all..you have wonderful talent..and a great way of describing details..i used to write some..i quit as i suck lol..
That's awesome, I would have loved to take some classes in Italy. Were you an exchange student? Italy really is packed with a lot of history and that would be the place to learn about the renaissance first hand.
Ahh! very nice, I'm jealous. 😉 I would love get lost for days down there. I didn't know that there was a Roman temple in there. Then again that would make sense since many of the old Pagan temples were converted to churches. Were you going to school in Florence at the time? :super_hap
Lucky! That is an awesome memory and a very nice cathedral . I hope that you took some photos from up top. What I love about those older buildings is that they were often built on the sites of previous buildings or as expansions and they interweave to form a composite structure with forgotten rooms or old cisterns and such. Plus there are so many archaic devices which had a common use back then but today we do differently or stuff that they used back then which is still in operation.
Renaissance architecture is very cool. :ayyy: I haven't really delved too much into it. But the cathedrals which were built back during that period were simply amazing. Is there a particular building which has caught your eye?
thanks for accepting my friend request..darn it..i must make it a point to read your stories..Duke speaks so highly of them and you...🙂
You and I are of a like mind when it comes to history. I feel much the same way. I love reading historical books, watching movies that really try to stay true to history, etc. As for historical documentaries they're like crack cocaine for me... lol. I don't really have a focus but lately I have been interested in the Byzantine Empire. I've read Decline and Fall... I need to find so more books on that subject. I hope you get plenty of those gift cards this Christmas. 🙂
Same here, when I shop at this time it's usually when the store first opens in the morning. It's easy to avoid the crush. I noticed that you enjoy reading in your spare time. Do you plan on buying any books as a present to yourself? :ggrin:
That's good to hear. Yeah, I am getting ready for Christmas as well. I still have to pick up a few more things. It can get a little hectic, just remember to relax and breathe every now and then. It's supposed to be fun. 🙂
Understandable. If you want me to do something in the future...just give a request, ok? 😀
Hello Lu-Lu. I apologize if I was ignoring you. I guess I got too focused in tickling Tklish_Jen for a while.
