Best advice I can give is make sure your research director is a decent guy and also will want to publish some of your research. My director was pretty nice but he did not like to publish. That hurt me later in trying to get jobs.

I agree. Although I switched from ler to lee a number of years ago. 🙂

It does vary quite a bit. It depends really on your research director and when he decides when you have done enough to write your dissertation and graduate. Usually that is about 4-5 years.

Tickling came first, the came cosmology much later LOL 😛

Grad School is cool. You get to do some pretty awesome stuff. You are right though it does take up a ton of time.

Cool nick. I am PhD Organic Chemist. I take care of my folks now so I mainly do Sci Fi Art and media now. I always loved Astronomy as well especially Cosmology.
