For the Men: How do you restrain your lee?

The only experience I had with tying up my partner was kind of clumsy, I had a bunch of thin nylon cords (don't even know where the hell that came from, my car has a magic trunk that tends to spawn weird items like that), but since I was inexperienced and too afraid of hurting her, I tied her up too loose and she ended up freeing herself. That was fun 
I tied her on her back on the bed, classic and comfortable, I'd rather favor comfort over originality, actually. Although, next time I'd try the hogtie, looks like a fun position, but how is it comfortwise? Any lee could speak out of experience?
By the way, for the bondage experts out there, I imagined a technique for tying up the wrists, never tried yet, and would like to know if it's actually a good idea: the thing is to put a pen on each wrist before tying up, and once the lee is secure, you slide off the pens. I figured out this could be a good way to tie tight without fear of cutting off the circulation, since if there's room to slide off a pen, there should be room for the blood flow. What do you think?

Next time try some leather cuffs, you can normally find them in the toy section at the porn shop.

We have a set of underbed restraints that work just fine for most of our needs. We've augmented them with a set of leather cuffs which have proven functional. A recent session called for a more exposed armpit, so we reconfigured the underbeds to a three-point restraint, binding the wrists together at one corner of the bed and binding the ankles at the other corner. It worked less perfectly in practice than in theory -- the lee's shoulders were aching after about 20 minutes. But for those 20 minutes, the armpits were deliciously exposed and ticklish.

Underfed restraints, we go for the traditional spread eagle position. I get tied down more than she. She can't take much tickling & safe words pretty quickly.

My play partner and I have to use leather wrist and ankle restraints chain, heavy rope and stocks, when in a full on tickle session Ticklemyfancyplz can easily tear D rings and stitching out of cheaper restraints so for both our safety I use the best equipment I can find or build.
Soft ropes. Scarves. Cuffs with quick on/off Velcro fasteners. Wrapped in a blanket or sheet. Lying on top of her. Straddling her with my knees keeping her arms out stretched. Straddling her calves, often with a small pillow on her lower legs and ankles. Yarn or a shoelace to tie big toes together. Bury all but head and feet in the sand. If it wasn't for our young, curious child, the end of our bed frame would be custom made foot stocks. She is vegan so no leather restraints. Handcuffs look good but they rub the skin raw so just for show. Bathrobe belts.

With those new to bondage and/or tickling, I use velcro cuffs. For the ones familiar with bondage, I use hemp rope. In the cooler climes, I'll bring out the shrinkwrap and duct tape.
