You don't have to live with it now do you? I don't give opinions about your country's issues because I don't live there and don't have a perspective. You should try doing the same especially since you don't have a clue about what you speak.

Live in my world for awhile and see how soon you get over yourself! If you can't provide something constructive to say, you're better off not saying anything at all!

Well which minority are you talking about? Your making a statement then include everyone as having a chip. so whats the point?😉

I have a question? Noone jump on me, it's just out of curiosity I ask. I'm white, don't act like or believe like a racist in any way, but whenever I'm around minorities, a lot treat me like I am a racist because I'm white, no matter what I do. There are reasons for this I'm sure, but what can I do?

Unfortunately, it's because everyone's guard is up where you're concerned. It is assumed that if the man is white, he is racist. Is it a correct assumption, of course not. But 400 years of slavery and Jim Crow don't go away with a few decades of civil rights protections. The human nature factor has to be considered here. It's like I said earlier, I don't believe all white cops are racist, but I do keep my guard up just in case. I've been mistreated by white males in all walks of life. I also married and had a baby with a white man, so I can love as well. My last SO was white so I obviously don't think all white men are racist, contrary to what some would have you believe!

But I will stand up for myself in the face of racial issues and don't care who it makes uncomfortable. If that's calling me a racist then.........

Why most people hate the police...

Because the police won't help them bring up their kids.

Because the police hae the temerity to tell them they can't piss/vomit/swear or drink in the street.

Because the police won't give them and their mornic pisshead friends a lift home fron the pub.

Because the police keep catching them when they're trying to rob someone.

Because they truly don't understand why they can't drive at 90 mph.

Because the police had the temerity to tell them the whole neighbourhood doesn't deserve to have their heavy metal music inflicted on them at three AM, and would they please turn it the fuck down.

Because most of humanity are a bunch of brain-dead, dickhead, worthless, switched-off wankers who don't give a fuck about anything beyond their next beer or packet of fags.

Not sure if it's been said already, but I think the problem many people have with police is that they do have a lot of power that can easily be abused. I'm sure there are many police officers that are responsible enough to be able to handle it, but I also know that there are many that aren't.

Things like the Rodney King case and other similar cases that didn't get as much press are good enough reason to be suspicious IMO. Many people don't understand also that police act differently in different neighborhoods, and I think people in lower class neighborhoods are less likely to fight back for one reason or another, so are more likely to get abused. That and under special circumstances, they can LEGALLY kill you. Whether you obey the law fully or not, it's still something to consider.

It gets us all, my friend. And it always will. Basically, it was one people's lack of maturity, similar to ours, and they know it... But they aren't Man enough to admit it.

I've noticed this thread has ecome about race, there are a lot of black policemen.

this thread needs trashed, its gone from why people hate people like myself(cops) to just pure racism. its gotten so off course. its 10-50'd into a brick wall if ya ask me. I feel bad for the family of the wisconsin deputy who snapped last night and went on a rampage shooting up a house of teens and for the loss of the teens. This is why in ohio, you have to be 21 to be a cop. yeah, its another year older than what that deputy was, but the mental state grows a bit more. trust me, i didnt become one until i knew I could make that split second decision without second thoughts.

Oh well, I never said it was right; I only know it's real and how many have to live their lives everyday. It's something that's not going away overnight either. Be glad you don't have to live like this instead of pointing out the so-called irony of it. Life contains plenty of irony to deal with; consider this another example of it.

Zeroing in on a sentence is one thing, you seem to have done the opposite by adding an extra paragraph to my post where I elaborate on the evils of that statement and accuse you of condoning it.

You can accuse me of whatever you want, doesn't take away from anything I've said now or anytime later. Okay, you still want to accuse me of being racist because I profile cops the same way they profile me-even moreso because I don't have the rights to stop anyone, harrass them, or shoot them. I do it to protect myself and my family. They do it because they can get away with it--big difference to me.

If irony keeps me safe and alive out here, I'm all for it thank you very much!

Thanx Viper 4 supporting the police! I have many friends who r cops & I hear both sides. The people who disrespect cops r the 1's who usually fear them. Who would want 2 wear a uniform (in the heat or cold), carry a gun, have 2 work OT while tired & take verbal abuse from people??????????????????????????????????????? All on a crap salary....and no1 2 say thanx 4 protecting the public. *Sorry 4 the rant!*🙁

I never intended to argue for the immorality of your anti-cop prejudice. This debate is just a constant stream of you being extremely dismissive of anyone who speaks against you while being as condescending and offensive as possible. I was trying to argue that the basis or justification of prejudice does not change the fact that it's still prejudice. And you've stated that you're more wary of a cop when he's white. Whatever past background you've got, family you've got to protect, husband you've married, or negative experiences in your past has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not that is a racist attitude.

Viper's obviously a racist because he watches black kids more than white kids, you're a racist because you watch white cops more than black cops, I'm racist because when I see a class comprised of mostly black people at school I think its probably an African American history class. Whether instilled by family values, biological distinction, or socially created differences we all make conscious or subconscious judgments of people based on their race. 99% of the time its probably not even the race by itself. Viper said he's more likely to watch a black guy dressed like a rapper and you've said you're more wary of a white cop. Would he be nervous around black guy in a business suit, or you around white guy in a construction outfit? Not likely. The context of the race is the most important decider but the racism is there.

I'm taking classes in debate, public speaking, and philosophy so I relish the opportunity to be proven wrong. Emphasis on the word "proven." If the opponent simply dismisses my points as the result of being a sheltered white boy, then we've wasted everyone's time here. I don't for a second enter a debate thinking I've got the monopoly on truth and even though my post does contain the words "you're a racist," I acknowledge that they're based on my own opinions and subject to being refuted. Again I am NOT saying your beliefs are unneeded or unethical. The tone of your posts seems to indicate that all posts criticizing your debate etiquette are personal attacks on the way you live your life. All I'm trying to do is bring into light the fact that you're existing believes as I see them (and accept) are easily comparable to those of Viper and other figures which you apparently detest.

Also the irony post I made really was just a commentary on the unusual wording of a statement.

I want to thank you for seeing what we go through and appreciating all that we do. Jimbo, fellow officer and brother, thanks for the laughs in this thread. its usually the goldsy badge that gets me, ive been cut three times by the sheriff 5 point star badge during altercations. haha We actually get paid well, but some say not well enough to risk our lives, we do that because we arent afraid to face what others fear. one of my fave quotes, " we who are truly brave, will never live in fear" . I work for an internationally recognized sheriff dept!
