I dont know about wise. LOL 😛 Just seems common sense. If the state keeps spending more then it brings in then taxes are going to go up. 😀 😀 😛
 
The late Robert Heinlein, famous science fiction author, agreed with you. He had various schemes for qualifying voters, none of which will ever be put into practice.

I found one of his schemes hilarious:

You go into the voting booth. A computer randomly generates a quadratic equation with distinct integer roots between -9 and +9 inclusive. You have 30 seconds to type in the two roots. You don't get to vote unless you succeed. 😀 😛

I remember my Quantitative Analysis Chemistry professor was always mad that they made science students take all these hard humanity courses but yet for the humanity people they offered all these dumbed down science classes. He said its sad that you have someone who has read all the great works of English Literature but does not have a clue about even the three basic laes of thermodynamics which govern the universe.
