Can someone please explain this to me?

Are we just going through the motions then...until we die?

Hmmm, that's a good question to which I have no answer. Therefore I'm just going to enjoy life the best I can until I die. Lol, what other choice is there really?
 
It depends on what you believe. I hold an objectivist view, and to me, the idea of life being scripted undermines the concept of free will. Holding that view, I don't believe in karma--that people who take advantage of me are gonna get their "come-uppance". I believe that allowing others to take advantage of me would be committing a crime against myself, since I'm responsible for my own moral happiness. The only one who has any say on whether or not my life has a "script" is me. I write my own screenplay, and change it or veer away from it on a whim when it suits me to do so.

When people are in this frame of mind, in my opinion they need a drink. Have a drink and enjoy yourself, questions like that are currently being debated by people far more intelligent than us. If the meaning of life is discovered on a tickling fetish forum I'll laugh myself to death. As far as a plan that a God might have for us, personally I think if he exists, then we should piss him off as frequently as possible since he hasn't paid us much attention lately. And if he doesn't exist, then we ARE simply going through the motions that our governments have provided for us until we die : Go to school, go to college, go to University (if possible), get a job, retire, die. So let's have a drink, we're all fucked!

If you're going through the motions it's time to do something different, like grabbing a bike and just riding off into the sunset not knowing where you're going.
 
Just about the same as the point, if it isn't. In one case, it's whatever point you happen to find. In the other, whatever point you're "scripted" to find. From our point of view, there is actually little difference between the two. Our perspective doesn't allow us to experience the "scripted" nature, in full effect.
 
anyway, if it WAS scripted, it would still be worth living wouldnt it? like you still feel dont you? why would anyone pass up the oppertunity to see whats going to happen next even if it is all planned out, cause we dont actually know either way whats going to happen do we?

All you need ask yourself is "do you know exactly whats going to happen to you tomorrow?"

If the answer is no, then what does it matter if its scripted or not?

Let's say that it IS scripted. (I don't believe it to be. But, let's just pretend for a moment.) That would make us all actors playing a role. Strive for the Academy Awards and not the Razzy Awards! Even if it were scripted, we have the option of a mundane performance or an inspiring one.
 
'Cause if there is a script, I haven't seen it. This shit is improv, brother.

Depends sometimes.

The majority of people I've met have regarded life as norm and death as the final step of life.

In the film Citizen Kane, there's actually a great quote one of the characters says: "Old age. It's the only disease, Mr. Thompson, that you don't look forward to being cured of."

I think many people would agree with that statement. However, if you saw life as a sickness and death as the norm then there life as we know it would take a 180.

Life's too much to be simplified in just 100 stories.
