I am beginning to think that I am the only guy in the world that couldn't care less about the NFL or college football. This is the beginning of the worst 5 months of the year for me because between now and Christmas the entire weekend is filled up with nothing but NFL and college football highlights, and then the entire month of january and beginning of February is the NFL playoffs. I have never had any interest in football all through growing up and it sucks because it seems like the older you get the more it seems like guys just wanna sit around drinking beer and watching "the game" every weekend. It's just not for me and I was wondering if any other guys out there aren't the least bit interested in football.

Note: If you're into football that's cool and I'm not implying I think negatively of you. I love baseball (not obsessed with it but love the game), and I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea.

i hear ya dude i feel the same way but to each his own tho

Never was a sports person at all, even though it turns out I got a knee disease of the knee that is usually gotten by kids who play sports, :go figure."

Anyway, yes, I'm not a football fan, heaven knows I'm not a baseball fan. I never enjoyed soccer, and well, I'm just bored by sports. Unless you count chess.

But I will not be bored during this football season. I'll just look at Football like I look at Hockey, Soccer or some other sports. As they should be.

War Games.

I love playing sports, but watching them gets boring. I watch baseball only because it was the sport I played while growing up, but I'm not obsessed. I don't like record the games to watch when I get out of work or need to check scores every five minutes on my cell phone or computer. I also don't get the whole obsession with fantasy leagues, but again, that's just me. It's almost kind of weird that I don't watch a lot of sports on television seeing as how I was a pretty serious athlete growing up. I guess I just prefer to play sports rather than watch them 🙂 .

I guess I'd rather just watch a good movie or read an interesting book instead of watch a bunch of people who make a zillion dollars a year, filled in during timeouts or intermissions by annoying tv commercials that brainwash our youth demographic that you need to drink lots of beer and buy a 300 dollar cell phone in order to be happy.

*hugs*

I've found my brother!!!

I couldn't care less about football. Neither the NFL, nor college football, nor soccer (which the rest of the world calls "football").

I follow only one sport, baseball. 😀

I watch two sports, baseball and women's beach volleyball. 😛

I despise football. My maternal grandfather used to call it "Footsieball". I refer to it as "Bone crusher". The idea of a group of guys chasing a pigskin, and falling on top of each other, three hours a week, is to me, silly.

I love major league baseball, and I also greatly enjoy the NBA. In my opinion, basketball players are probably the best athletes in all professional sports.

I could care less about football either, but every Super Bowl Sunday before the game starts, my friends will ask me who I think will win cause, even though I've never seen a single game of it, I've picked out the winners of the last eight superbowls in a row. I don't bet on any of these games because I know that if I do, the streak will end. So I make sure that if any of them make bets based on my "psychedness", they give me half of the winnings....

To each his own. I personally love the NFL and have been a tremendous fan since I was a kid. As long as a game has any kind of meaning, I'll happily sit and watch an NFL game between any two teams.

I like baseball and hockey, but I'm more of a casual fan with those sports... I just keep up on the standings and catch the occasional game until playoff time. Basketball just bores me to death, though.

I also catch the occasional soccer match, but I usually have to be rooting for team USA to get into it, in either CONCACAF qualifying or World Cup play. (Aside: It's known as soccer in the USA, Canada, South Africa and parts of Australia too, BTW)

I couldnt sit through a whole game if you paid me...

Milagros does indeed follow baseball. One time when I was talking with a colleague of his at his professional workplace and I mentioned that I knew him, the man asked me, "So what's your common interest with (Milagros's real name), baseball?"

But I'm not into baseball--or football--or any other sport. Funny, the one kind of sport that I have gone to a couple of times is women's roller derby.

Ironically, although I'm not into football and never have been, I always enjoyed the sitcom "Coach." The show always made perfect sense to me and held my interest.

I have tried to sit thru high school football, college football, the NFL, both at parties and attending games....and I just can't get into it. Just can't. For the life of me, I will never understand what the appeal of football is to people. BORING! I'd rather watch paint dry.

I hate this time of year and how it seems that's all the weekends are filled with.

I don't care about what you call football at all. On the other hand, I am crazy about the real football, which you'd call soccer 🙂

Love playing sports, but watching is is just boring. Unless it's the World Cup or something, then it's the most brilliant excuse to get completely wasted.

I love football!

I usually fall asleep with about five minutes left in the first and wake up with a couple minutes left in the third. :zzzzz:

And the best part is, with the Dolphins anyway, I never miss a damn thing.

I'm not a hug fan of watching football or many other sports. The exception to this would be boxing.

Well if my username here isn't a dead give away for my feelings towards sports I don't know what is. 😀

But in all seriousness. I've never cared about sports which drove my dad crazy and still kind of does. I genuinely don't mind shooting hoops or playing baseball with my friends (Though that virtually never happens.) I also used to do fencing in early high school which I love but haven't really had time to do lately. But to me following teams is a lot like watching your friends play video games. Its only fun when your doing the playing otherwise what's the point? That said I actually DO watch the superbowl every year. And then for the rest of the year I'm done!

^ I don't see why your username would be a dead giveaway, Whoviantrekkie. I might be an NFL nut, but I'm a pretty sizeable sci fi fan as well. I can tell a Sontaren from a Dalek, thankyouverymuch.

I still say we need a TARDIS smiley, BTW. 🙂

Could not possibly care less about football, or any sports, for that matter.

Wow... It is weird seeing this many guys openly admit they are not into football. To each their own I guess....

Football season is the greatest ever. It is also the shortest season out there. Stop bitching.... :peace:

I'm with you, buddy.

The idea of playing sports is alright to me; it's good exercise and it's fun, I get it. The idea of watching others play sports, however, completely baffles me. It's also just so weird to me to flip to the sports channel and see guys sitting behind desks discussing things like plays, players, and upcoming games as if they're important news items or something... Watching sports is one thing, but it makes even less sense to me as to why anyone would care so much about sports as to actually listen to other people talk about sports on the radio/television... but to each their own I guess.
