Its almost baseball season!!

But, no matter who wins (anyone but the Yankees and the hated jints ), its gonna be a great year in baseball😀

Yes, I can agree with that. 😀 Gagne's consecutive-saves-without-a-blown-save record is now at 68. The last 8 saves of 2002, all 55 from 2003, and 5 so far this year. :yowzer:

alot of high paid Yankees started off like that...look at Tino Martinez when he 1st came over, give it time. He is too good not to get hot. Adjusting to a new position, new team, NY pressure...he will adjust and be right where he should be.

Hate to disappoint, but the Red Sox will win the East. Their pitching is much better than the Yanks😀

actually one did jump over the moon the other day.

And just how long do you actually think the Sox will stay down??

Well baseball season is over for the Phillies...Ummm Larry Bowa News flash...In order to score a run the player needs to go around all the bases...NOT get stranded EVERY FRIGGIN time on 2nd base:sowrong: :sowrong:  :ignite:

Oh well...some things never change...

fairytales

hold on, i forgot....

the red os won 3 and the yankees only one? oh, wait a second, the red sox have FOUR and the yankees only one...that's right, i almost forgot about tonight's 11-2 victory 😀 in yankee stadium, of all places!

and a-rod got boo'ed? in yankee stadium?? 😱 oh, c'mon guys, have a heart- it's not his fault he's one of the best players in baseball and sucks in a yankee uniform :sowrong: now, i KNOW it's only april...and everyone's a little rusty....but c'mon, isn't this supposed to be the yankees? the "unbeatable" evil empire?

and it's very true, NT, the red sox have MUCH better pitching than the yankees this year 😉 so right now, the sox are WAY over the yankees on both pitching and hitting- ah, what a beautiful thing 😉

hey, i only speak the truth  just look at the stats, they speak for themselves!

~clair 😀

All you people going on about other teams haven't noticed that the Dodgers are now in first place in the NL West, tied for the best record in baseball at 11-5. Moreover, this includes 4-0 against the hated jints. 😀

Well, Maddux seems to be back on track and Prior seems like a few weeks from coming back, and now we're moving full throttle now. Watch out National League: the Cubbies are coming😀

Red sox 3 Yankees 2 in 12 innings for game 2 at Yankee Stadium.

It doesn't get better than this........

😀 😎 😉

Ray

Red Sox 5 wins Yankees 1 win against each other.......

Let's make that 6 Red Sox wins over the Yankees as they shut them out 2-0 at Yankee stadium to sweep the series...go Pedro!!!

😀

Ray

And let us not forget today's final score from Dodger Stadium, which was Dodgers 9, hated jints 0. This improves the Dodgers' record against that wretched team to 5-1. 😀

Hmmm....a Dodgers/Red Sox matchup in 2004..now THAT I would like to see...It would make a good series...

Ray

Sorry, Ray, but a Cubs/Red Sox series would be much better, because it would be a guarantee somebody's streak of futility ends😀

the Cubs wont do it until they slaughter the goat....just blowing up the ball wont do..ROFLMAO! 😀 😛 😛 😛

I hafta agree w/ NT, im DYING for a cubs/red sox world series!! At least SOMEONE will break their curse, and do more than just add another ring to their collection

10-5....I can't even believe it...it doesn't get much better than this 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

~clair 😀

well I have to admit the 1st few weeks have been a disappointment, but I still say the Yanks will prevail over the red sox by seasons end...

Not if they're playing like that, Judy...I doubt if they're gonna finish ahead of the Chattanooga Lookouts the way they've been playing.
Meanwhile, there's the highly overrated Bernie Williams. Every time he's at bat, he lets pass some incredibly juicy good pitches, one, maybe two right down the chute, and the moron swings up and in at one aimed at his wrists, and he can't figure out why he's not succeeding. Kind of a metaphor for the whole organization. Kevin Brown's had some good outings, and the bullpen blows it. They're living on one or two home runs here and there, and my mother's batting average is higher than A-Rod's.
I'm not sure they're going to be there. The pitching's not good enough.

Natural, if the Cubs win it all, I personally will drive to Chicago and treat you to a nice dinner. I'd like to see this happen, but I have no reason to be confident that it will.

Let us not forget that the Dodgers are 12-6 and in first place as of today. 😀 😀

The Yankees have become a big bat team. Some people think they've BEEN a big bat team over the years, but that's not true...when they won championships in the late '90s, you'd have Bernie Williams leading the team with 20, 25. Now, you have all these big bats, and everyone's been either awestruck or shaking in their boots. The thing is, who's been winning? What big bats did the Marlins have last year, really? How about the Angels singling you to death in '02? The Diamondbacks had a couple of inflated bats, but you really had a team of smart hitters. The Yankees won with the likes of a Chili Davis or a Tim Raines or a David Justice in the lineup- smart hitters who pitchers were essentially helpless against in most situations. I don't see anything like them now...other than Alex Rodriguez, who's a shoe-in anyway.
Gary Sheffield's a prima donna, Kenny Lofton's old and useless and will also be history shortly. Enrique Wilson is NOT a regular second baseman by any means, and if you've noticed, Jeter's numbers have been going down over the last few years. Bernie Williams could never carry this team. Giambi flails helplessly against high fastballs.
The pitching? There's no middle relief, and the mystique of Mariano disappeared as soon as he stopped striking people out. Regardless of what ANYONE thought of Andy Pettitte, twenty four wins and a better chance than not of winning in the post-season got on a plane and flew down to Houston.
It would greatly surprise me if the Yankees really made a solid run.
I'm not that impressed with Boston...Johnny Damon is a lummox. I'm also unhappy about how things are viewed up there. Grady Little got thrown on the pyre with the ashes of Bill Buckner...but what would YOU have done? Would YOU have left Pedro in there? Or, would you have taken him out and left it up to the "let's throw gasoline on the fire" Boston bullpen? If that had happened, they would've tarred and feathered him for taking Pedro out. You can't win in Boston, and they can't either.

As much as I want to start a debate about this, I have to admit that I would have done the same thing Little did. He is not likr Burkett or any fifth starter. this guy is your ace, your money pitcher, the guy you want out there in those situations because he wants to be out there and feels he can get the job done. He had a three hitter going into the seventh inning. He had great stuff that game, he'
s your # 1, I would have left him in also.
