I was posed this question in a chatroom, and it got me to thinking.......what makes you, you?

For me, I think it's the fact that I am an easy-going, lighthearted person. People that know me know I am a really good listener, and that I enjoy being there if they need to vent. Another thing is that I love having fun and being silly/random at times.

So, TMF-ians, answer me this: what makes you the individual that we all know and (maybe 😉 ) love?

i'm probably the same in some of those ways and in different ways as well. i think i'm much more of a listener than a talker and much, much more of a giver than a taker. i can say that i'm also more of an observer than actually taking part in something. i don't really put a lot of deep thought into things, i just kind of go with the flow of events happening around me. and all this time, because i'm an aquarius, i thought that i was much more a water sign but it turns out that i'm an air sign instead. i have to research that to tell you what it means, but that's what my star chart said 🙂
 
well what makes me meee is i am a good guy very nice a good listner always helping others very giving i am sweet and i get told daly. i am easy going.i have a good sence of humor basicly a good guy:xpulcy:
 
I am a hugger and cuddler.. I love to bake and cook... esp for my freinds and family.. I am a good listener and friend to all.. some in here even call me sissy and MOM...hehehehe.. I try to be myself and treat everyone sweetly . I dont know. you tell me... what do you see in me?

I'm a product of my family that has allowed me my space to become who I am no matter how much they may disagree with my views. That and someone who has revealed the inner goodness that has been long buried for far too long.
 
The element of surprise. Just when you think you have all the answers about me, I change the questions.

Seriously, I think it's my ability to keep people guessing. They think they know me by my smart-ass remarks and such. Then I throw something deep or thoughtful their way and they don't know how to take it. I find some small amount of amusement in that. Plus, I don't like being predictable.

I think my life experiences make me who I am. A part of me never got past the age of 4. Another part of me never made it past 12. Then another part of me hit 30 long before I was even legal.

So yeah. Not sure if that's the kind of answer you're looking for, but there it is!
 
We're all fundamentally the same, the differences are superficial. The more you see your true self in others, the 'happier you are'. :atom:

I embrace being terminally unique.
I would also have to say that the things i have experienced in life have made me who i am. For better or for worse, i am not the same person i was a year ago, and a year ago i wasn't the same person i was 7 years previous, and so on. I'm always evolving. The factors that shape me as a person will continue to increase, and my evolution and growth will never end.
 
I give ridiculous amounts of thought to what is honorable and moral, and try always to act in accordance with those. I take great pride in the degree to which I've succeeded to my satisfaction, and the sacrifices I've made to do so. The effort I put into it is one of a few reasons why I react with great personal offense when anyone suggests I've acted in any way that is unethical or underhanded.

I can always substantiate my actions with reason backed up by honorable intentions, while my detractors always seem incapable of substantiating their accusations without resorting to diversion, spin, dishonesty or delusion. I think that says something about us both.

Just today, someone told me, he loves me for always saying the wrong things for the right reasons.
I very much appreciated that, cause to me it means, I'm not simply telling people what they wanna hear, but what I believe is right and could help them, even if it's uncomfortable.

I can't even help doing that and it's because I care.
So, yes, honesty and that never ending urge to help and be there for the people I'm close to - that's me.
 
I don't know what makes me me only that I believe the ups and downs, good and bad of life's experiences have probably instilled in me some teachings from what my life has been so far.

I also feel that my parents have given me the grounding for how I treat people, such as; respecting people, being honest, friendly etc etc.

One of my closest and oldest friends only said some things to me in January when she was grieving over the death of her cat and what she said made me cry. She was saying some really lovely and caring things to me and thanking me for being her friend when she needed it most, and knowing that she could count on me for anything and that I will be there. I guess this is what I try to be like but it was really moving actually hearing it from someone.

Don't get me wrong I have some not so nice traits like most of us I should think, if we are really honest with ourselves. I try and learn and understand what sort of person I am, we are changing all the time.

I wish I could change my worrying though as it drives me and others insane.

To make a kurch:

Take a 3 ounces of vorpal bunny DNA, a pound and half of hyperplasma, toss in three teddy bears then add a gallon of chocolate ice cream and add a pinch of kurchatovium (freshly made). Mix thouroughly and give the contents several hugs and bake in the california sunshine.
