That game was an edge of seater the whole time... when the Americans tied it to when Crosby won it.

Congrats to the U.S. for an amazing game and Olympics > a record for most medals at a Winter Olympics.

Don't forget their northern neighbours either. 😀 > Most gold medals at a Winter Olympic games in history and by a host nation... not too shabby for not having any golds coming in! 😀

It was a truly compelling olympics. Feelin kinda empty now that they are over though. Kinda like coming off a huge stressful adreneline rush and landing on Whatnow avenue.

I totally feel ya Randy. However, we all know what lies on Whatnow Avenue: the race for the NHL Playoffs!! I'm looking forward to seeing how well, if at all, the Kings can hold on to the 5th spot in the West and get in this year. If everyone stays healthy, I think we'll be ok. March will be a stressful month for all teamd trying to get in and teams trying to hold spots, so it will definitely be exciting to watch!

Congrats to Canada for winning the only gold that matters! T'was a great game, and both teams played VERY exciting hockey! Way more entertaining to watch than the typically defensive-minded hockey we have over here. 🙂

I suppose Russia went from bust to barely passing, but they'll probably do a lot better in 2014. 🙂 Would be interesting to see how well Scandinavia fared if Only Finland would take that final step to becoming a competitive nation as well. Norway has been dominant in winter sports for a long time, and Sweden finally took the step in 2006. Five medals by Finland is still decent though, I guess, but it would have been nice if one or two of them were golden.

Also, congrats again to both Canada and the US for their respective medal records!

For me personally it's Scandinavian first, Swedish second, World Citizen third. I've never really identified myself as "European" at all for some reason. :S

But yes, I believe Scandinavia comes first to a lot of Swedes, partly because the Scandinavian peninsula is separated from mainland Europe by a sea, but also for various other cultural, political, and even linguistic reasons. Why I separated Scandinavia from Europe in the medal count though, is because I don't want to be accused of making a comparison primarily between North America and Europe just so I can try to make Europe "look better". 🙂 I mean, Europe is obviously pretty dominant even without Scandinavia. If I put the two regions together, there would hardly even be a point to making the comparison in the first place. XD

WOW!!! Just... WOW!!

These Olympics were so amazing and highly enjoyable (no Canadian bias here, eh? 😛)... couldn't have written the script for that ending any better!

I'm gonna be in withdrawal for days and weeks to come!
