No hockey thread? For shame people.

In any case, my Boston Bruins took the series against the Lightning in seven games, and come Wednesday, 6/1, the Stanley Cup Finals begin! Bruins v. Canucks, Vancouver having the home-ice advantage for games 1, 2, 5, and 7. Should be one hell of a series.

Let's go Bruins!

I called Boston to win it all after the pre-season and Vancouver's a Canadian team. While in my heart of hearts I'm pulling for Vancouver, I can't lose either way. 😀

If Vancouver's offense wakes up and/or Luongo can withstand Boston's offense consistently, Vancouver wins. If not, Boston wins.

SS

Since Boston made the finals, my Leafs get another draft pick. I'm happy with how things turn out.

I might just cheer for Boston though, because Canuck fans are insufferable right now. I can only imagine what they'd be like if their team actually won something.

Well my Boston v. San Jose prediction got eaten by a whale so I'm going in with no sorts of hopes, expectations or choosing of sides. Though as I told a co-worker of mine, had the Lightning won that series I truly believed the Finals would go to Game 7 but since Boston won...on paper I think Vancouver will run all over them but who knows. It is the Stanley Cup Finals after all, and weird shit tends to happen.

Agreed that on paper, Vancouver is going to have an edge against the Bruins. Thomas is going to have to stand on his head the entire series, but he can't do it all himself. Lucic has to wake up and remember exactly where the net is (cough: don't go for the 5-hole on a breakaway!), but overall that first line is solid. Chara and Seidenburg have been doing well as a defensive unit as well, but every member of that team is going to need to be on their game, every game. It's going to be one hell of a ride.

Also....

It's a tale that must be told
To all ages young & old
It's been 39 years since the Bruins last won
No matter the outcome the series will be fun
For you see I've been a fan since i could crawl
Pictures and poster hung all over my wall
The Bruins are hungry and the Canucks the main course
Vancouver will need Luke Skywalker and the Force
All i can say is let the truth be told
The BEST players wear the Black and Gold

Lawn gnome smack? I'm impressed! 😛

I'd actually like to see the outcome between a bear and a whale but alas...this may end up being what happens to the Bruins if they don't watch themselves and go for the kill.

Tonight. 8pm EST. Bruins v. Canucks Game 1. NBC.

Watch it and support Boston, because for every Canucks fan on the east coast and Midwestern parts of the country, 16.5 kittens get smote by the hockey gods.

KEEEEEEEEEEL HIMMMMMMMMMMMM

Now, now! That's no way to treat a lady!
You can't live in Vancouver without being a Canucks fan 🙂

I promise you though, I'm not one of those irritating bandwagon fans. I've been following the 'Nucks for 7 years.

Bruins tie the series! Down to a 3-game set...and it's back on NBC. No more of this Versus crap where I have to go to a bar and watch it!

Oh, how wonderful it would be if this could find a way to get to a game 7 in overtime...

I have to be faithful, I think Vancouver will win it at home tomorrow, get back their confidence and win it at Boston in game 6. 🙂

Woooooooo!!! One more win!!! 🙂

The streets of downtown Vancouver!
All the fans inside the arena are still there, these are just people gathered to watch outside in the streets!

Game 6 is currently underway, with the Bruins jumping into a quick 2-0 lead in the first, with goals by Marchand and Lucic. Keep it up boys!

should be an interesting one to say the least!!

I hope we can put it away at home!!! 🙂
We haven't lost on home ice, so let's hope that trend continues. Poor Mason Raymond 🙁
