I'm ready for Featherfingers to take us on a personal tour of the seventies. Who are the would-be 'lees those of us who were still young during that era (or who revisit it through TV Land, etc.) dream of most?

For me, Victoria Principal would top that list (Dallas began late in the decade). But also:

Suzanne Somers
(The late) Jessica Savitch (of NBC News)
Adrienne Barbeau (Maude)
Marcia Strassman (Welcome Back, Kotter)
Jo Ann Pflug (Candid Camera)

But my tastes are (unapologetically) out of the mainstream sometimes. FF says he's ready, and I hope you are, too. I'll get out of the way now.

Deidre Hall and Judy Strangis, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl
Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman
Debralee Scott, Welcome Back Kotter
Joyce DeWitt, Three's Company
Wendy Richard, Are You Being Served?
Holly Hallstrom, The Price Is Right
Elaine Joyce, Match Game and many other game shows
Barbi Benton, perennial guest-star
Jan Smithers, WKRP in Cincinnati
Cathy Lee Crosby, That's Incredible
Misty Rowe, Hee Haw, When Things Were Rotten
Susan Richardson, Eight Is Enough

I would like to add three names to the list. MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA!!! :veryhappy

HOLY CRAP!!!

You're not daunted by the task at hand, are you?

Admittedly, FF, Xodlirv's choices are probably a little more accessible than mine (although there are some wonderfully creative choices on that list).

But what can I say . . . I'm spoiled now! I'm countin' on ya, FF!

I don't mind the challenge, Iwon'tgrowup. The problem is that I've previewed lots of photos of some of those ladies while doing the "Sixties Television" thread, and a lot of the ladies are...gasp... either fully clothed, the pics are too small to view, or there's no 'footage,' if you know what I mean. I'll do my best, though.

Marcia Strassman (if you look carefully you can see her big toe by John Travolta's right leg))

Here's a link to a page with screen captures from magic performances on television. If you click on Illusion Selections, then Double Sawing in Half, there's some caps from a Doug Henning special with Barbi Benton. Most of the time the feet are fake but there's a couple of shots of her first getting into the box and those are her real feet. Quality isn't great but it's something!

Here's a shot of Holly Hallstrom, former Price Is Right prize model. Good ol' Holly was never adverse to shucking her shoes for the camera!

Xodlirv, how come I was never in front of the TV on those days! Wonderful job!

Since I do not have image posting ability, I remain the consumer (although avid and appreciative). Thanks, all, for your terrific postings on this thread.

Who is this, featherfingers? She has lovely skin.

That's Barbi Benton, gr369. She was a Playboy Playmate way back in the 70s (one of Hef's girls, of course), but she also was in a few TV shows... I remember seeing her on a show with a theme song that went, "girls, girls, girls, don't you just love 'em..." but I can't remember the show's name. I remembered her, of course. I believe she was a "Hee Haw" girl, too. She recorded a number of record albums, too, but none of her songs made it big on the charts.

Barbi was indeed a Hee Haw honey, and the one C & W LP I recall (around 1976-77 I believe) wasn't half bad. Mostly, I watched for her lying around on the porch while Archie and Gordie and Junior laid around mimicking hillbillies (in Junior's case, he didn't have to mimic).

Hey, Iwon'tgrowup:

I think Featherfingers has done a great job so far, wouldn't you say? I have a few more to add to the list

Connie Newton (Eight is Enough)
Jamie Sommers (Bionic Woman)
Lydia Cornell (Too Close For Comfort)
Cheryl Ladd (Charlie Angels)

I will think of more later when my brain isn't so fried

Thanks, Giantfan! I love these women from the 70s and I enjoy posting the pictures. Unfortunately, some photos are so small you need a magnifying glass to see the details.
