A little sad and disappointed

I haven't been on the TMF regularly in a year or two, which is a bit of time, but for how dramatically this population has changed i cannot believe it was in such a short amount of time.

By this, i mean that people have become much more aggressive, argumentative, and tactless. Now it's not as bad as youtube, or anything like that (i don't know if any of you have ever read youtube comments. they can be fairly vile.)

But when I used this site regularly (again, only a year or two ago) the members generally wanted to participate in conversation, rather than argument and attack.

As an "online tickling community," we shouldn't fight, but unite. I mean, really, this is the ONLY place many of us will ever share common interests an feelings about this subject. I don't care if you have a lover who lets you tickle play with them -- they will never feel or experience or understand your love of tickling the way this community does.

I think this website is supposed to be used for discussion, not disagreement; i think it is meant to be used as support, not debasing.

Can't we all just get along again?

I don't know, I've been more active lately than I usually am, and it seems that the people who want to converse still do so, and the people who want to pick fights still generally just get ignored, or move it to the Politics forum :lol:

As Smiley said, these things do ebb and flow, and I also only visit a few of the forum areas so it's also possible I'm missing just such a change, so don't think I'm discounting what you're saying. I just haven't noticed the same issue.

In particular, I think some members have taken it upon themselves to be the local moral police. Occasionally a negative comment about what someone has done or is proposing is appropriate. Certainly, some things that people have suggested on this forum have worried me.

But it seems that a vocal minority are uncomfortable with any tickling where the lee is not the ler's partner/boyfriend/girlfriend, and the ler has not come out and said "I have a tickling fetish. May I now tickle you?" So giving your friend a quick tickle is immoral. You are taking advantage of them. Shame on you.

From my point of view, it's gotten to the point where I'll read the first post of a thread, and already know which members will post negative comments. And for the record, I have not been the OP of any of these threads I'm talking about.

Very Well said Amanda we need to all get along. I have been bashed by some on this forum for my aggressiveness in trying to find and meet ticklish ladies either married or single. But hey this is a tickling forum and members here are into tickling right? If not they would not be here. I think this is the best place for all of us who have a tickling fetish for being a LER or a LEE for us to interact and get to know each other and possibly meet. Yes I am aggressive but I do not bash anyone or cut them down. I like most LER's just love to tickle ticklish women, what is wrong with trying to meet ticklish women from here? Nothing in my opinion. I have been aggressive and it has paid off. I will not mention who from this forum I have met for tickling but they know who they are. I am also a very discreet person and easy going when you get to know me. I hope to meet others from this forum as well and be friends with. Lets have a Tickle Party....LOL

I'm all in favour of the TMF being a place of zen and harmony, but given the number of people here, and the contrasting views they're bound to have, I'm not sure if thats realistic. To be honest I didn't really think there was much of a problem, although I haven't been posting that long...

Just to clarify, i WAS talking about the tickling discussion section -- sorry about that. I don't actually really visit the other discussion topics... i get riled up enough about those subjects in person enough =P .

Maybe i was just visiting the right threads back then and the wrong ones now... im not sure. All i can say is that i do see a difference... it is the circumstances which are under question.

For instance, i recently read a post with what i considered to be a very offensive racist remark towards the thread starter. I was honestly shocked. I also don't see as much from the people i use to talk to on here, so maybe thats a change as well. Who knows. I definitely have faith in this community, i think we all just need to try a little harder to get along and remember why we are REALLY here

I've been coming here for ten years and I think that even a few years back the same problem existed. LDtickler is right. I avoid posting in the discussion forum due to that as a rule.

Apart from any bad manners, arguements, cliques, or the internal "nanny state" of the discussion forum, the unbridled selfishness of many people posting is what drives me crazy. I used to think this was an inclusive forum for all people who enjoyed tickling, and I think initially it was; especially for all of us old enough to remember the pre -internet world and the difficulty of locating materials related to our fetish. Of course, then again Pyscho went crazy early on....

However, what has been going on is the endless bitching about certain people's preferences are the only valid ones to have, comments regarding video producers work that make me fucking crazy ,etc. I don't need all media or conversation to reflect my views and tastes on this forum, yet I think about 40% of the current membership does.

There are alot of quality individuals here. And- in contrast to the content of posts on YouTube that seem to reflect the imminent downfall of our country, it's not that bad.

But I'm of the opinion that, as an "adult" forum, people should get a thicker skin and not be so offended at every little thing (and God help me, how little those things can be...) that may not be entirely to their liking. That isn't to say "be a douche and if they don't like it they're pussies and deserve more", but c'mon, it's the internet. Sometimes you just gotta roll with it.

There are times when even the most calm among us becomes angered. Discussions about things close to people's hearts and deep fears often provoke strong reactions. I've never seen it last for long though because where a rift has arisen, those involved no longer communicate.

I have noticed a harshness towards one or two new arrivals, but then they were mocking the place a little. It passed. 🙂
