A problem that needs your help

As I type this, Tickletheater, that is a single account in it is being hacked by a hacker. While I personally think I know who this person is and why they are doing this, I know that TT is currently unequipped to deal with hacking threats.

Do any of you have any useful information I can deliver to the owner of TT to help stop this and prevent it in the future?

I know this hacker is not hot stuff and is merely just fooling around to get our attention. I don't think they are capable of more than they are doing.

They have however been able to keep the hacked user's IP address the same, so as to cover their tracks.

Is there anyway to block the hacker from using this or any other account in the future without having to ban the rightful user's account and IP address?

All this hacker is doing right now is using someone else's account to post in and they are besmerching me and thus humiliating the actual owner of the account. They're a minor annoyance at best, but this cannot be allowed, and the owner of the site is not currently online, to my knowledge, to do anything about this.

Write them an e-mail stating your account was hacked and is not being used by you. Ask them to kill it, or return it to you. Be ready to prove that the account was yours. With some luck you posted some of your work with it at some point you can point to.

Its been decided that it was not a hack job at all, but just a disgruntled user who suddenly has a beef with me for absolutely no reason at all.

The reason a hack job was included as a possibility was because the user changed literally in moments and went from joking with me to plain insulting me, and this insulting has been going on since last night. The posts are being deleted as they appear by mods and myself, but this all seems very suspicious, and this behavior is not necessary or validated in any way.

This user has a certain way of talking, and now they're talking in such a manner that it doesn't feel like its them, which is why I personally thought it could be someone else using the account or coaching them to act this way toward me.

Either way, its unacceptable, deviant behavior.

Thank you for your concern. Theres always a solution when things like this happen. Those who laugh last laugh best.

CE - This wouldn't be the first jeckl & hyde occurrence for the community. There've been plenty over time. Generally, it's turned out to simply be someone blowing off steam. Let's hope this is a similar case and that things will calm shortly.

I know, but there is more to it than this, which I don't feel I'm at liberty to discuss at this point.

This may or may not be over. Whats important is that the worst of it seems to be over.

What I would really like is an explaination for being targeted in this way for no apparent reason. So long as I get my explaination I'm willing to listen and willing to forgive.

We'll see.
