Almost a year ago I google searched TMF hoping to find The Music Factory. I came accross this TMF and decided to have a look. One day I went in the chatroom here and started chatting with tkrdb2000. He seemed like a nice and funny man. We progressed onto yahoo talking on mic and cam and eventually swapped telephone numbers. Even though I live in England and he lives in Colorado we still talked at least three times a day on the phone. He came over here to meet me and we had lots of fun. We fell in love and decided to get married. If it wasn't for me trying to find The Music Factory and this TMF being here I would never have met the most wonderful, kind, caring, gorgeous man I have ever met in my life. I now believe in fate and know this was meant to be. It just goes to show that there is someone for everyone somewhere in the world. Thank you TMF 🙂

Well congrats to both of you and I hope you have a wonderful life together, now the 2 of you together can make beauiful music together so in a way you found the web site you were looking for congrats again

Thankyou for your well wishes.

LMAO well itwasn't that sort of an accident. I was called pee wee here at first but then i got loads of questions about golden showers that i didn't know how to answer so I decided to change to aun existe amor which is my favourite spanish song and it means love still exists. I know now that it really does.

Mimi that picture made me cry, it's soooooooo beautiful. I've done nothing but cry since he had to go back home yesterday. I hope it doesn't take too long for the visa.

I see, thanks for answering my silly question. 😛 Yes, love does exist, and you and tkrdb2000 prove that it does. 🙂

Thank you Kurch. :bunny:

I always thought American and English wedding traditions were similar but there are lots of differences. One big one that springs to mind is the groom wearing black. That is considered bad luck here. American wedding cakes are different too, you have sponge and we have fruit cake. AND.......... What's with the blood tests ??? What is my blood being tested for? Does anyone know? We don't have blood tests here. I just need to have our names up in the town hall to give anyone who has any legal objections chance to say so before the wedding. I have only just started planning and arranging so I haven't come accross many other differences yet but I'm sure I will. Oh, I do remember one other difference, if we divorce I won't get all his money and he doesn't have to pay me anything at all. Not that he has any money to begin with or will we get divorced but that's a BIG difference.

Didn't wear black. I wore a midnight blue tux with matching vest, white shirt, red silk necktie...not a bowtie, since I hate bowties, and bowties remind me of Tucker Carlson, or George Will, or even worse, Pee Wee (sorry, honey) Herman.

Our wedding cake was a bit different. Mrs Knox wanted to do a wedding carrot cake, which sounded wonderful to me, given that I love carrot cake, and the concept certainly seemed different. One Saturday afternoon, four or five months prior to the wedding, she saw an ad in the yellow pages by a mom and pop caterer a half hour away for 'Wedding Cheesecakes'. Now, we both love cheesecake even more than carrot cake. She called the caterer, and made an appointment to see them that afternoon. They showed us pictures of three tiered wedding cheesecakes decorated as Greek architecture. We loved it, we ordered the three tiered and three sheets. They gave us a two pound sample to take home to try. Later that afternoon, we both took forks, and bit into the two pound sample; we both started laughing...it was absolutely, without a doubt, the greatest cheesecake we'd ever tasted, in our lives. We took what was left over to my parents that night.

Now, I don't remember any of the menu from my wedding, I don't remember what the main meal was, I don't remember the side dishes. What I remember is the cheesecake. That's what everyone else remembers, too. Now, we took the top piece home with us, and put it in the freezer to have on our first anniversary. The cake itself held out marvelously, although the crust kinda turned into well...let's just call it yecchhhh, but I guess that's to be expected. Either way, with a wonderful cake like this, who needs a Viennese table?

Something to definitely look into, Pee.

Congratulations!!! You too always seemed made for each other! I'm way happy for both you!!

Some states here in the US require a blood test to check for venereal disease, a holdover from a 1930's era anti-VD crusade.

Also, Colorado (at least as of 1996) requires an RH factor test to assure that a pregnant mother won't produce antibodies against her fetus, which can happen if the mother is RH negative and carries an RH positive fetus from an RH positive father. This occurence can cause problems for the baby.

Thanks Knox, you've given me some great ideas. I think I was concentrating too much on keeping both our families happy by trying to follow both traditions. I haven't discussed it with Bob yet but I think I would like to try a more unique wedding. Let everyone else follow by our example rather than us follow theirs. Who knows, it might even cut the cost down a lot. Neither of us have a lot of money. I can't wear white anyway (according to English tradition) because I already have a daughter before I was married. I'm not into frilly, lacey things either and I'd prefer not to have flowers. My new idea of a perfect wedding would be to wear a long velvet ivory coloured dress with a long matching cloak or coat with a big hud instead of a veil. I could have a muff to keep my hands warm instead of carrying flowers. We could get married outside in a nice spot up the mountain somewhere ( as long as I don't need to wear hiking boots) !!! Or we could even get married wearing ski suits and as soon as we are prounounced man and wife we could ski off down the mountain leaving both our families to argue amongst themselves. The arguments haven't started yet because they haven't met each other but knowing my relatives it's only a matter of time.

Thank you drew. I am very lucky to have found such an obedient lee. (Bob is sure to get me for saying that) LOL

Thank you for the information TKpervert. I feel strange calling someone who is obviously a nice person a pervert LOL

I was too scared to post anything here for ages but now I've started I think I'll have a look around and maybe become more of a regular poster, is that the right word ? Anyway before long someone will be sick of seeing my name around here lol. I'm shutting up for now, typical woman once I start I can never stop.

Poster is the perfect word! 😀

I won't get sick of you. In fact, I want you to post more! And some men can't shut up, either: I'm one of them. 😛

Take care, aun. 🙂

Good for you Aun remember it's your day no one ever mentions the groom it's always the bride, so you and Bob do what you feel is best for you, if someone has a problem with that they will just have to get over it. This is the best day of your life so why not do the things you like so when you look back on that special day you never have to say I wish we did this or didn't do that just to make someone else happy. This is going too sound corny coming from a guy but I think it's more important to make your vows a true hearted felt statement on how and why you love your mate. Remember don't worry about what others may think or say some are going to think or say something anyways so do what feels best for you and Bob.
