In Germany you pay the Convention-Tickets, and 1 autograph of the guest stars is included. There are dealers everywhere where you can buy cheap pictures if you want to, and the Con provides standard autograph pictures as well (don't know if those were included....I think they are in the Con-package that you get when you arrive!). I don't know how it is handled in the US.

Some actors give additional autographs (15 Marks per autograph back in 2000, don't know how it is now), the money goes to charity. But some actually were up to trading autographs for muffins! 😉

I think it's pretty neat how it's done. 🙂 Works great. 🙂 Everybody gets a number and then during autograph hours, the numbers are called and you get in line so there is no total chaos. 🙂

You can't lose your spot because you don't have to go in line 1, 2, 3....it works like when you board a plane.... "Now boarding seat numbers 50 - 100!" 🙂 It doesn't matter in which order you arrive in line as long you have one of these numbers.

At what point did I say she should encourage it? I simply said that she (and other actress') should not be ashamed of it. I also said I am not found of the rape scene in Death Wish 3, so could you not make it sound like I am, was, or did? I didn't even know she was in it when I bought it originaly, and I've always thought that seen didn't have to do as far as it did. I actually picked up the DW movies because I like to see bad people getting shot by Charles Bronson ( I gotta pick up "The Brave One" so I can see Jodie Foster do it too 😀 ). Same reason why I buy my Eastwood and John Wayn movies.

Signing that stuff puts her stamp of approval on it, and that in itself encourages fan interest in it. If she says, "I'm not going to sign that" then people are less likely to show up with it, less likely to have it on display at the convention, and far less likely to say "Look, I have a signed copy of this thing with Maria Sirtis's breasts in it!"

Best of all, from her point of view, she doesn't have snickering fanboys standing in line saying "Sign here on your left tit, Ms. Sirtis."

By not giving those things her endorsement, she is limiting fan interest in them by one of the few means open to her. It's gotta be hard to be proud of something like Wicked Lady, but that's just because it's a really trashy movie, not specifically because she gets her dress shredded by a bullwhip in it. It doesn't mean she's ashamed of the way she looks, or of the work she's done. It simply means that she worked very hard to get out of the lower tier of actresses who get tapped for that kind of low-class work, and she doesn't want the focus to return to that part of her career.

And believe it or not, she doesn't owe it to her fans to do anything else.

I can see your point on everything but this last statement. Every entertainer who is successful owes there success to there fans.

And she is successful with being Troi! Not with showing her breasts! So unless you like her for the latter, don't make her sign anything that makes her think her breasts are what you enjoy most about her!

I like everything, her acting, her looks, the entire package is good. She is an intelegent, beautiful, talented woman. I don't just like her breast, they are something about her that I do like, but it isn't everything. If she wasn't talented I wouldn't even bother with her no matter what show she was on. Like Megan Fox, I can't stand her at all, her looks don't make up for her lack of talent.
