Admit already....Everyone would love to see the DALLAS COWBOYS win the SuperBowl at..

Yep, football season is finally back. It's about damn time!

You are right. When one of the great franchises is mentioned, people get all riled up. You have to admit, in the NFL, you have San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Dallas, New England, and even the Raiders, bring up some strong emotions when you talk about them.

In MLB, you have the Dodgers, Giants, Yankees and Red Sox.

In the NBA, you have the Lakers, and Celtics, and now maybe the Heat as a team people love to hate.

I will always bad mouth the Cowboys, but as a fan of the game, you love to hate them because they have a rich tradition. I respect their franchise because they want to win. Just like I respect the Yankees. However, it will be a very cold day in hell if you ever see me cheering for the Cowboys in the Super Bowl. I take that back, there is one way. If the Cowboys are playing the Patriots or the Raiders, I will cheer hard for the Cowboys. They are the lesser of the evils.....

.

Have to disagree a small bit

Yes the most storied and loved franchises are in order- The Cowboys, The Steelers and The 49ers.. however i disagree with New England being on there. Yes the last 10 years they have been great but never did much before that. I wouldnt put them on that list for at least another decade if they do consistantly well. Take off the Patriots and put on the Packers in my opinion

The Patriots are not a storied franchise. You can't go 40-years being worthless and be considered important because of a 4-year period.

Dallas has been pretty worthless since 1996. That is at least 14 years of worthlessness. But the Jets have been worthless since 1969. Notice Fiend how I can be objective?

And lets not forget THE FACT they cheated. That automatically eliminates them.

They haven't won a Super Bowl in a long time, yet they have still been able to maintain their popularity. They are still the most-watched team in the league and are the second most valuable franchise in the world.

In 2008 they were the most watched, in 2007 it was the Steelers, last year it was a virtual tie between Indianapolis and Minnesota, Dallas 2nd and then Pittsburgh 3rd, at least according to the Nielson ratings review I saw. But I do not know if that included Sunday Ticket views or not.

Still nothing to sneeze at. Dallas is indeed popular, with good reason.

The Patriots are mentioned because they instantly create emotions. I think they will be considered a "storied" franchise in history. Why do you think the Packers/Steelers/49ers/Cowboys are considered "storied"? They won a bunch of titles.

They have 3 Super Bowl titles, and 5 Super Bowl appearances. The simple fact that they entered the Super Bowl with an 18-0 record will always resonate throughout history. The other "storied" franchises also had humble beginnings, but once they started winning a bunch of titles, they became "storied". In another 20 years or so, the Patriots will be called "storied" by the general public.

They cheated, and their coach is a complete asshole, but nonetheless, people pay attention to the Patriots.

Bottom line is, the Cowgirls will choke once again......

Wow .... one of my good friends here that is a HUGE New York fan just admitted it would be great for the Cowboys to win the SuperBowl at home ... very nice

Flock, you crack me up...

So, do you think it will be a good thing if the Giants/Jets win the SuperBowl when the game is held in NY?

I think Ginats vs. Bills would be much more dramatic . Bigtime NewYorkCity vs. freakishly cold Buffalo

Would it have been good if Miami won last year?

Let's say it was the Dolphins vs Cowboys last year. Would you have said "it was great the Dolphins won!"

It's great anytime the Cowboys win. It'll be great to see them win the Super Bowl in the Giants stadium when it's time.

Yeah! And we know how reliable the Nielson ratings are. As reliable as a three dollar bill is spendable. I could swear we did almost an entire radio proram on how UNreliable te Nielson rating were. Cowboys suck and everyone knows it! So stop kissing the Cowboys fans collective asses. They do a good enough job kissing their own asses. They don't need your help. :facepalm2:

My question is where do you get your information? Do you have so much fun watching the cowboys that you just assume that everyone else is watching the cowboys also? I only watch the cowboys like 3 times a year, MNF, SNF, and Thanksgiving. The rest of the time I'm not watching the cowboys.

I get it from different websites related to the Cowboys and the NFL. I take an interest in how many people are watching America's Team. They've consistently ranked high in the ratings even when they the didn't have as good of a team as they have now. You look at the ratings for all of the MNF, SNF, and nationally-televised Sunday games and the Cowboys appear at the top over-and-over.

the new Cowboys stadium this year

Even several of my friends here that are devout Steelers fans had said this to me , even if they won't admit it publicly ! :dancingsheep:

Actually, I haven't watched the whole SuperBowl from beginning to end since the 1970's and I couldn't care less who wins it or where it's played.

Yeah...and we know te Nielson Ratings are accurate. How many million homes and so few Nielson ratings boxes.

1960's: Two NFL Championship appearances
1970's: Two Super Bowl wins, five appearances
1980's: No championships, several NFC Championship appearances
1990's: Three Super Bowls in a 4-yr span
2000's: One playoff win
2010's: I'm going to predict at least two Super Bowl victories in the current decade. I hope they can win four by 2017.

As you can see, Dallas has alternated the decades in which they have had success. 2010-2019 is just meant to be another glorious decade for America's Team.
