After last night's speech by Bush......

When 2 people agree about everything all the time, one of them isn't nessecary. - Billy Graham

I voted for bush (intentional lower case) but have lost the faith. I hope he finishes his term and goes away.
We need more Roosevelts and Trumans, not more spoiled unqualified preppies like bush. (think Kerry... think Billary).

Don't want McCain, don't want Obama, screw it I ain't voting in 2008.

unless Colin Powell runs. then I'll vote.

According to Maniactickler, this is a great President. Which is why getting into an argument with this individual is an energy wasting trap.

Correct me if im wrong but the president admitted to the mistake and takes the blame. A delusional person person would blame it on harpies

So you want someone who also intentionally did things that violated the constitution and tried to pack the courts with his judges so they'd agree and pass his programs through?(FDR) Bush has done similar things as well and he's been demonized for it. FDR did it and is heralded as a great hero of the nation

He's a lousy piss-ant president just like his daddy, plain and simple! He never thought this out through the end; he just started war in an oil-rich country who was too weak to defend itself. Everyone knows the insurgents are coming from other countries than Iraq-that's why US troops are basically losing.

It's time to bring the troops home and let Iraq fend for itself. It's not the job of the US to defend everyone else's best interests. We've lost enough as it is in jobs, education, and god knows what else. Bush is a panty-waist who doesn't know what he's doing-just like his daddy. They wanted Saddam-now he's dead. It's time to go.........

You say he's got balls? I bet if you pulled his pants down you'd find the same that's underneath my skirt!

Name one president who would turn down a chance to pack the courts. It's part of the game.

Its in our best interest too. if the oil fields fall into the wrong hands, theres some big trouble brewing shortly there after.

We must disagree here somewhat kis,and you know how much i respect your intellegence.Bush Sr. served this country with honor during WW II,he can hardly be called a panty-waste.He also served as director of the C.I.A. as i'm sure you know.

Whatever may be said about their policies,i think they did what they thought best for the country.I think Jimmy Carter did also, and he was a distaster as a president.

One final comment about Bush Sr.He did what our allies and the U.N. mandated,no more no less.If political pressure had not stopped us from finishing the job the current conflict might have been avoided all togeather.

Well meaning people often do the wrong thing for the right reason, and president's are not exempt from that.We are so polarized by differences that i wonder if there is any common ground that can be agreed on anymore. If not,i fear for the future of our country.

Could there be a more repugnant sexist remark? I'm hard-pressed to imagine one.

His daddy started the obsession with Saddam and sent thousands to a failed war. His son took over when he went into office; nearly five years later we're again fighting a failed war costing us billions.

He used his political pull to keep his son out of the savings and loan scandal in the 90s. As far as I'm concerned it should've been the Keating 6 instead of 5. Neil Bush went through his daddy's trap door.

All of them are nothing but a bunch of liars, thieves, alcoholics, and drug addicts. The only good news I see is that it's highly unilikely that there'll be a second generation of them; at the rate their kids are going, none of them will live long enough to take office.

That's the only reason the US is out there-to protect their oil interests! So that's worth 3000 dead, thousands injured, and even more thousands of mentally anguished?

Invest in oil alternatives and reduce the dependence of foreign oil. If they kill each other over there, they've been doing it for thousands of years and are good at it. Our troops are basically looking at another Vietnam right now; you can send 200,000 more troops and you will get the same result. You know, it's not always the size of the dog in the fight as it is the size of fight in the dog, and Iraq is not going away quietly are they? The more we kill, the more come in to take their place with no end in sight.

The only way the war can be won is to drop a bomb over the entire country and it's neighbors like Hiroshima-I don't see that happening at all. If you're not going to do that, then send the troops home; their time and lives are being wasted.

Again I say, all this did was confirm what I thought six years ago. This country is doomed. Get out while you can

Yes, oil is a good reason to fight for. especially when the A-hole liberal environmentalists wont allow drilling over here. the libs would rather see us go back to the stone age. :ignite:

Liars, theves, alcoholics and drug addicts? I thought we were talking about the Bush family, not the Kennedys. :jester: :jester:

I had to double check myself that I wasn't accidently in the P&R section. Pretty heated thread for GD. At any rate, as much respect as I have for the President I will admit that i'm growing weary of him trying to be so damn "politically correct" on the war on terror. If he would just ban the media in the combat zone(basically being all of Iraq), stop court marshaling our valient troops for killing innocent bystanders that the enemy so cowardly hides behind, and let our military decimate the enemy as we all know they can, claim absolute victory, restore peace and come home where they belong maybe the people whom like myself voted him into office for 4 more years would wholeheartedly stand behind him and proudly say "damn right I voted for him!" Sadly that remains to be seen. Thats my rant for the evening. You can agree, disagree,or whatever. God Bless..

You are right there Lion,it's time to win this thing or get the hell out.War is hell folks, and innocent people die.Douglas MacArthur, who knew a bit about the subject, said the only humane way to wage war is to end it as soon as possible, whatever it takes.

And as he also said,in war there is no subsitute for victory.kis123 made a good point in another thread, lets level the place or get out,and let them pick up the pieces. That part of the world has been at war for thousands of years, and its not going to change.

Then you're not voting because he ain't running! You will probably NEVER see him in the White House again. Besides, he was merely Bush's token figurehead; he had no voice and no power.

Stay at home and don't vote, that's certainly your choice. But don't start bellyaching when crap hits the fan. Those who don't vote don't get my attention when they want to complain.

i didnt get the see (or hear) the speech, but it amazes me how many people criticize Bush. is he the best President ever? no. is he the worst? depends on your point of view. and out of curiousity, how many of these "Bush is an idiot" posters are Democrats. i think an overwhelming majority are.

nothing wrong with that, but keep this in mind. if the United States leaves, everything isnt going to be rosy. Iraq will turn into an abyss of complete chaos. if that happens, guess who gets the blame? the United States. once our troops leave and the Iraqis destroy themselves, the same people criticizing Bush now, will criticize that he didnt "clean up the mess he made". the United States is "damned if we do, damned if we dont".

another thing that concerns me is what Mr. Osama Bin Laden said about us Americans. he believes that Americans do not have the stomach for a long conflict. he knew that if this country gets into a "fight" that doesnt end quickly, the American public will sour and demand that we "retreat". face it, Americans like "instant gratification". it hurts me to say it, but Osama is right. Americans do not have the patience to win a war. from the outset, Bush said this wasnt going to be quick and this "war on terror" was going to take years, but lo and behold, Americans are crying that we should leave. my opinion is this, we leave now, those terrorists and other "rogue" nations will have the confidence that the United States can be beaten. look how bold Osama got when the Russians left Afghanistan. there is no way in hell Afghanistan should have been able to hold off the Soviets but they did and that emboldened Bin Laden. he called us a "paper tiger". everyone knows we have the power to destroy anything in our path, so to fight us, they cant fight the way we normally see conflict. it's a patience game for them. everyday of their lives they are in some kind of battle. what's a typical American conflict on a daily basis? "should i get fries with that?".

Basically Osama called us a bunch of punks and bitches with no guts to fight. he KNEW the American public would start to get tired of war and start complaining because the war is not "over" yet. guess what? he is right. i have friends that served in Iraq and yeah, it sucks to be over there. soldiers are dying over there and it is a truly tragic thing. but, leaving will not be a good idea until everything can be stabilized over there. leaving will only cause MORE problems, not less. if you want to complain about Americans dying, can we please have the same kind of outrage with gang violence in this country, which is taking MORE INNOCENT LIVES than the entire Iraq conflict? naw, as long as the gang violence doesnt come into your life, why should you care about that innocent little girl that gets caught in cross-fire? why should you care about kids getting shot because of they accidently crossed into gang territory? no, Americans want to bitch about a conflict that we need to see to the end. we have no choice people.

okay, send your angry responses my way...just remember though. you have your opinion, i have mine....
