Alien vs Astronaut (*/f upperbody+feet; colored pencil)

Hi everyone,

About seven years ago something really cool was happening in my life: I was starting to use my love for drawing to post tickling images here on the TMF. I was always pretty insecure about my work, but a lot of people graciously and patiently supported me as I tried to find my way.

One of those people was Slacker, who came to me seven years ago with a really imaginative idea for a tickle pic. When I showed him the first draft, he gave his honest opinion and gently pointed out areas that could be improved for the final version.

That image seems to have been lost to time and the elements, but I was suddenly struck yesterday with the desire to do a remake. So here it is.

To Slacker, and countless others (whom I dare not name for fear of leaving someone out): Thank you! Your kind words of encouragement have given me the strength to push ever onward in this lifelong object lesson.

...Even if I only post two images per year 😉

Alien tickle monsters... a sure sign that our pastime is not merely loved world-wide, but universally! This picture sparkles with dynamic vibrance; the unusual lee positioning not only catches her at a disadvantage and permits good access, but allows all compositional elements (the profusion of extraterrestrial limbs, the sweep of the dark fur, the explosion of icy background energy) to arrow toward her helpless focal point, driving this (probably) unwanted neural outrage into racy spectacle! Our hapless astronaut is the center of almost all the warm coloring, too (rosy red, pink and woody auburn); unforgiving cool hues (the black luxury of alien hair, and a polar or liquid setting) isolate her ever further from any suggestion of rescue or choice. Teasing, meanwhile, is managed with a certain gourmet delicacy. Poised tail-tufts patiently wait their chance; fingertip touch if feathery (abandoning the taloned tactics of traditional BEMs); a hot tongue turns putty-like, form-fitting to desperately splayed toes (the Blob's approach!) Clearly, our extraterrestrial brethren are well practiced in the fetish arts and have much to teach! Reason enough to spend billions more on space research!

Low Roads, I'm glad the composition turned out as you've described! Those kinds of things aren't my strongest area, but I get inspiration from your dynamic angles and poses. Thank you!

Sanji, I'm glad to hear you mention the style. Because I got my start drawing inspired by anime, I sometimes worry that the changes I've been making will be disappointingly too different from that. I'm relieved that this doesn't seem to be the case!
