I guess you feel weird finding it cute that a man is ticklish because one could take that as being vulnerable and, hence, not masculine? For similar reasons, women might find it peculiar to find themselves drawn to guys who are shorter, younger, or less successful than they are.

I'll bet to this day girls "throw" the game if they find themselves beating a boyfriend at cards, miniature golf, and so on. We condition men to have the upper hand.
