i don't see the need for continuing the room. most of the discussions are banal, at best. it is dominated by the very young and illiterate, with no cultural contribution outside of "whoomp, there it is".

if people want to chat, they have yahoo messenger; AIM; etc.

My reasons for no longer "chatting"

Actually,
I used to frequent the chat room ALL the time about oh a year+ ago...before this new chat room started.

The problem I have with this current chat room app is that it takes FOREVER to load the chat room!! and I have a cable modem connection and I think I have all the java stuff turned on correctly!
It just takes A LONG time to just get in there and that usually keeps me away...

And yes a chat room largly relies on the people there...a year+ ago there were a group of people that got on every day and it was a great time, I have been in the chat room a few times and it was Ok, not too bad, not to good, just there...

Anyway, MY problem is with how slow the chat is in general more than the people there...

And seriously... this is the freaking internet. The medium itself was never designed with class in mind, so I find it strange that any of you expected a tickling chatroom to be "vanilla." Chances are likely that a lot of people entering the room are typing one-handed, if you know what I mean....

Ah, yeah...there ya go. That's the point. At one time, (maybe I'm aging myself here) people were happy to actually TALK about tickling in the chatrroms. It wasn't assumed that such chats were so very abundant that they'd come in acting like little freaks of nature and ruin the atmosphere by trning it into an x-rated romper room.

Am I dare sying that people used to APPRECIATE a tickle chat once in a while and so it was at least better than that "man's best friend gets it on with a nun in a vinyl tutu chat room." Ah, the old days. Too bad that's the equivelant that I've seen most of the time lately. Glad for the rest of you who dig that sorta thing...but it doesn't work for me. Frankly, I'm surprised that the people who act like that are being considered vital to the tmf. But....that's just me.
