This has already been posted here. And how is this a blow to our fetish? It's not going to slow me down or alter me in anyway, nor will it affect anyone here unless they decide to go the same route.
Regardless of whether the story is true or not I see what he means about this being a blow to our fetish. It's not gonna slow me down or alter me in any way either but there's a general perception in the vanilla community that anyone with a fetish has some sort of mental issue, is a menace to society, etc. Stories like this add to that perception. Of course we're all gonna do what we're gonna do regardless of what anyone else thinks but some acceptance and understanding from the vanilla community would be nice.
Saying "the vanilla world" looks at us like we're all that one freak is kinda like a vanilla looking at that freak and thinking that we're all like them. I mean how many times do you hear about a teacher preying on their students? If a person is going to not trust all teachers ever again because of one news story, that's very telling about the type of person they are. I think the same can be said for anyone that makes sweeping generalizations about an entire group based off of one bad egg.
To be honest, I doubt much of the vanilla world is aware tickling is a fetish at all.
It isn't a blow to our fetish at all, regardless of whether it happened or not. A single, isolated incident isn't a reflection of an entire community. Anyone who would look at that incident and be like "man, people with a tickling fetish are more likely to be like that dude" are stupid. So their opinions on it wouldn't matter to me anyways.
I don't see it as harming the fetish. You either like it or you don't. This isn't going to hinder my enjoyment of tickling in any of it's forms (writing, art, photos, videos or actual play). I wouldn't be surprised if a video producer used it for inspiration in some M/M videos.
I'm not going to let some ass hole who doesn't respect the law ruin my fun.
Actually, the whole headline is misleading and typical of the media. Not once to anyone claim to be tickled. In only one case did anyone clame to have their foot touched. That might not even have been the intention, especially if it only happened once. Yeah, its creepy...but why the headline? Oh, that's right...it sells...who cares whether its true or not.
