Any thoughts how to fix a DVD-ROM drive

.... the drive now only reads DVD's data or movies and wont read Cd's. I have reinstalled the drivers and that worked for a day but failed again the next day. Thanks for any help. 😀

Smash it and buy a new one.

I think it's pretty much dead.

the exact reverse happened to me last year (CD's - no DVD's). just replace the burner/player as theres no way to fix the issue. those things are only built to last a few years depending.
