On January 9 of next year my house is having renovations done to the 2nd floor bathroom, the main floor kitchen and TV/family room and hopefully for 1-2 days only an electrician will be in my basement room hooking up the dishwasher and other appliances to the breaker box in my room. :ranty: :Grrr:

My question is did the renovations in your home interfere with your privacy and your access to the internet and here?

On the days the electrician is in my room I may not be on the internet and here.

you bet ... in the planning stages right now ...

...just got back from the nursery a bit ago discussing with the landscaper what trees are to get removed and what new ones are to be planted ... replacing shrubs as well later.

then there's the fence in the back yard ..

...the concrete in the kennel is cracking and breaking up ... that has to be removed and rebuilt

I've got a butt load of shingles left over from the new roofing, so we are planning to build some sort of convertible house/lean-to made of 2x4's and marine plywood for the dogs and use the left over shingles for the roof of it.

then on each side of the house there are things I'd love to do ...

then there's the issues of a new water heater, and a more up to date, more efficient A/C-Heating system.

...now when this all gets done I have no idea ... we're just taking it a step at a time.

no major issues inside the house though ... except we did recently get new carpeting (why we need a new water heater, the old one leaked into the house), and a new fancy dandy stainless steel cabinet style fridge

We'll miss you honey! :cry1:

We almost added to our bedroom, which is tiny, and added a new bathroom...but we balked at the $50,000 to 60,000 price tag, which was fortunate because soon after, I lost my job. We had linoleum and old carperting on the floors, so we settled for hardwood floors instead of the addition. That was disruptive enough...I was dreading what a disruption the addition would have been.
At least the tiny bedroom has a nice floor now!

Our front porch started to sink and seperate from the house. It is connected to our roof so as it sank it pulled the roof down with it. The support beams started to petrude through the base of the roof I went round and round with the insurance and the S.O.B.'S refused to cover it . Every contractor I had that gave me an estimate said this was definetley an insurance job. The cheapest I was quoted between $6000.00 - $8,500.00. I had a neighbor who builds homes do it for cost. New, poured concrete, mortar, railings, new wood suppotrs, new aluminum for the base of the roof, and labor. He charged me $3000.00. This was his cost. So I did luck out and I took care of him.
