anyone hear this scary cover version yet?

Today I heard a disco version of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" by a band called Scissors Sisters. And to make matters worse, they sing it like the Bee Gees. (No disrepect to the Bee Gees, but c'mon already! Why desigrate a classic song?)

I remember this cover band back in the late eighties called Dread Zeppelin. Buncha LZ covers to a reggae beat and a lead vocalist who was an Elvis impersonator. Their first album was best listened to after having indulged in illegal recreational pursuits...

But, when the Elvis sound alike broke into "you ain't nothing but a Black Dog!" in the middle of one of the songs, we needed a forklift to pick us up off the floor... 😛

I had a couple of the Dread Zeppelin cds back then , Knox. They were a riot! Their lead singer (Tortelvis) was a send-up of the fat "70s Elvis". I remember their version of the song "Hot Dog" wasn't even done reggae and in the middle of the tune, they break into a couple bars from the Green Acres theme. Really fun band and even Robert Plant admitted to being a fan.

I liked Dread too but am HIGHLY FED UP with musical remakes, mixes, even movies! Does NO one out there posess any creativity any more? Ick!

How horrible this has to be. I am glad I didn't hear it. Would probably give me nightmares. What's worse is how was permission given to them to do this to Floyd! Someone should be slapped.
