Austin Munch report.

I just got home, and have to say those who could not make it missed out on a great afternoon. I got a call from Tom around 12:15. He was lost so I went and collected him, then he followed me to Threadgill's.

It was a small group, just Tom, myself and a married couple and after talking a minute it turns out we had met at a Houston gathering several years ago. I won't mention their names as I didn't ask them about it.

It was around 1:30 by the time we got hooked up and after lunch we sat in the restaurant talking until reluctantly saying our goodbyes just before 5. It was an afternoon of great conversation and much laughter.

Tom and I are already talking about doing this again sometime late this winter, and I hope some of you who could not be there this time will be able to join us.

Most of the credit goes to Tom. He is the one who really got the ball rolling on this. All I did was recommend the restaurant.

It was a small step, but one we hope will lead to bigger things in the future. Monthly or bi-monthly events are probably not practical given the distance many people have to drive. I think three or possibly four a year would be more feasible for most. We'll see where it goes from here.

Well! I got home not long ago from the great city of Austin. Bugman said it all. We had the best time. We were 4 but we were ROWDY!!!! 😀 I too wish more could have been there but you know what, for a first MUNCH I could not have been more pleased.

I did get a little lost. I was about a half mile away from the place. I simply passed it. Good ol' Buggy found me and we were off. The couple we met were wonderful. Ticklerbc and TXGIGGLEE were really great people and I enjoyed the conversation. Thank you both for coming.

It was great to meet Bugman at last. I do feel we will need to meet more often for a few beers. Austin is not that far away after all. 😉

All in and all as I said it was an excelent afternoon. We hope to have another one in February. Maybe sooner if people decide they are ready for it. It is always nice to meet new people, and as always TMF people seem to be some of the greatest.

The people here are the greatest, if one puts a bit of effort into getting to know them beyond a TMF name, and keep in mind that you needn't agree with them about everything as a basis of friendship. This has been my experience at least. 🙂

Exactly! Agreed. We are all human beings tha have one thing in common. We have lots of differences as well. Just like the brothers and sistrs that we are. Good times my friends.
