I would say it depends on how hard the victim struggles! Ever since my Mom kicked my father a bloody nose because he tickled her feet he didn't try it again! 🙂

LOL! Yep! That would play a big part in the factoring.
When you think about a healthy, average married couple, there should be a healthy amount of playfulness and intimacy to their physical relationship. Tickling makes people laugh. If either of the individuals is ticklish, you gotta believe that there will be plenty of times that the other will take advantage of that. Perhaps not in a sexual way all the time, but definitely in a sweet, playful way, just as you would tease your partner or call them pet names.
It all depends on the people....I know couples who think tickling is totally childish and avoid it completely, and there are a lot of people who get aggressive being tickled. Naturally, in a relationship where that is the case there is not as much tickling as in others!
Indeed, the people are what matter. But average couple, I'd say moderately. While some do see it as childish or hate it, many see it as a somewhat playful, flirtatious maneuver.
From what I have noticed with my vanilla friends, it seems to be a pretty common form of flirting. Not as incorporated into sex play as we would include obviously, but a decent amount goes on I would think.
