but my orgional point is still held true betcha, even in the face of completely incomprehnsable belief systems, the human mind in of itself still had a perception of reality that was a lot more indepth than shelter and finding accorns like other animals.
by a need for understanding i didn't mean that everyone on this earth was going to study philosophy at Harvard., I just meant that everyone on this planet would develop a belief system surounding the origions of man and their place in the world. those that burned poeple at the stake for heracy, although wrong, had a very clearly defined idea of where we all came from and what their place as.
as for the unconcious mind not being a thing i would strongly disagree. The relationshp between the subconcious as a programer of the concious after years of conditioning through filters has been documented. I don't have time to quote off everything that i have read, but i still believe that there is a subconcious mind that has your hardcore beliefs and pre-programmed patterns in it. and then there is the concious mind that programs the subconcious to autopilot most of the time.
lie the guy who makes the coments about the opposite sex with contradictions as friends, his belif system more than likely developed a long time before he met his friends right, probably hearing a relative or a father say it as a child, right.
what i think you were reffering to when you were reffering to a thirst for knowledge was the "enlightenedd" people who relaize that there subconcious belief patterns and patterns are subodinate to their concious authority and constantly seek out new information to verify or modify their interpretations of the world. i owuld call those people leaders. the scripture would call them those of the prophetic gift, and they in my oppinion have a great deal of responsability to share the emerging truth with everyone else.
