Hell yeah, nice to see The Pillows show up. Very strong soundtrack/series indeed

What a &%^#*@ moron! Do you know anything about film scores? I mean anything?! Because if you did, you would not have listed any of those choices. Bernard Hermann- ridiculous! He may be the film composer by which all others are judged, but he couldn't compose his way out of a wet paper bag- with sheet music, a copyist, and a pair of galoshes! Don't bother responding to threads when you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about! I wouldn't show my face on this site again if I were you, unless you are fulfilling some sort of need to be ridiculed in all your clown-like glory. But if you're man enough to respond to this post (and I know you're not), you'll explain how you could have possibly listed Altered States on a best anything thread. It must not be easy for you to sleep at night!!

Does Quadrophenia count as a soundtrack :idunno: ?

Gee, CitY of MicA, take it easy. All CitY of MicA said was--

Oh, wait. Nevermind....

I just love posting to these crusty old threads!

My favorite soundtracks:

Carlo Rustichelli - Blood and Black Lace
John Barry - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Ennio Morricone - Lizard in a Woman's Skin

my top 3:

Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron
Gladiator
Charriots of Fire

Both volumes of Kill Bill have utterly brilliant soundtracks. In fact, all the Tarantino movies I've watched have had great choice of music, but Kill Bill really stands out.

Thanks, tcklft. I'm trying my best to show some restraint.

I'm confused, is Mica slagging off his/her own post?
Perhaps you can appreciate the position I'm in, Red, as you contributed to this thread years ago, as well. I made my original statement, to the best of my knowledge, in the spirit of contributing to a friendly, pleasant discussion about movie soundtracks. What could be more wholesome than that? It was truly a much more innocent age back then. 5 years pass- and nothing happens. Then, suddenly... this thread resurfaces and I get viciously attacked- no, blindsided- or better yet, sandbagged. And by myself no less!!! It hardly seems fair :sowrong: . If I respond in kind, this thing will only escalate and get ugly. Besides which, I have plenty of better things to do with my time that to respond to an inflamatory post by someone who should clearly know better. I would put myself on ignore, but I am unsure if I then would be able to see anything on the forum :ermm: .

On the other hand, I can't speak for myself, but I can kind of understand where I was coming from.

Right, er, well I think thats cleared that one up. I very much agree with your original post BTW, you really know your stuff!

Jurassic Park
Pirates
Titanic
Rocky Horror
Moulin Rouge (old songs, new ways to sing em)
Cabaret
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Shortbus

I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but almost all of those are all on my ipod's playlist!

The Crow
The Devil's Rejects
Dee Snider's STRANGELAND
Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2
Underworld
The DaVinci Code

The only soundtracks I actually bought were in highschool.

The Crow

And even though the movie sucked...Last action hero.

Pirates of the Carribean had some good scores not to mention some of the scores from Revenge of the Sith.

I got to say freddy vs jason soundtrack, it got my foot in the door for most of the newer music i listen to now

Many times the soundtrack is better than the actual movie.

I like some of Spike Lee's movies, but the true pleasures are his soundtracks, if you are a jazz fan. He features a lot if Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, and other jazz ledgends, and he works regularly with a superb musician/ composer, Terrance Blanchard. Well worth a listen, if you appreciate great jazz.
