…and you gravitate or attract a person of the same kind (of interest, mind frequency or ideology at least?). Do you really find this somewhat true in your real life?

Yup. Mostly the same interests, goals, ideology, sense of humor, etc. People with similar drives and passions. The gravitation happens naturally. I do have some friends who're polar opposites of me though but there are still certain parts of their personality I'm attracted to in some way.

I`m an old fashioned guy. As long as she allows me to occasionally hit her over the head with my club, and drag her by the hair back to my cave, there is potential for a lasting relationship.:lovestory

I think you need to stick with getting a puppy.........:laughhard:

I don't mind sharing common interests but there has to be some differences to keep my attention. He has to know something I don't and has to be willing to share it with me. If I can't learn from a man, he's not going to keep my interest. As far as friendships are concerned, we can have differences of opinion but we must share some common ground as well.

Yes. Sometimes one strong common interest (such as duplicate bridge in my case) can overcome differences in ideology.

^^^ Bwahaha. How sweet! You have a way of bringing the milky way at her reach (with your club) Like this >>> This *&^%$#@! :jester:

For me I try to find people as different from me as possible as it tends to expand my horizons. Gives me a lot of different viewpoints, ideas and perspectives and to me that is way cool.

Naturally.

Humans are social creatures, and we build relationships through conversations. If we have things in common to talk about, the conversations will be more numerous, more in-depth, and more meaningful.

It makes sense, if you think about it. 😉

^ On a side note, there are friendships, attractions, marrriages that are built around fear, blackmail, and possessiveness... Given only about less than 10 statistical samplings in this thread, we are not sure how the flocks had been formed out there in the wasteland. 😉
