Books, anybody?

working on franny and zooey right now. shoooort-ass attention span, though, so not much leeway has been made.

The best books I read in 2010

:rotate:The Conservative Nanny State by Dean Baker, a great take on welfare for the wealthy

:rotate:Sex at Dawn by Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jethá, a strong argument against monogamy

:rotate:The Anti-American Manifesto by Ted Rall, a call to revolution in America

:rotate:The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander, which details how life for African Americans was better in the Jim Crow days than it is now

:rotate:Eaarth [sic] by Bill McKibben, a lot more inconvenient truth

:rotate:The Spirit Level by Richard G. Wilkinson, a case for greater parity

:rotate:Broke U.S.A. by Gary Rivlin, first hand accounts of how the rich make the poor even poorer

:rotate:Bad Sports by Dave Zirin, giving me still more reasons to lose interest in big league games

Any tickling in Master Slave?

Did you read Whip Smart?

i haven't finished it yet..only read a few stories from the bottom since i just bought it *blushes*

no i've never heard of that...is it similar?

im currently reading world war z its a damn good book

That was a very cleverly written book, added something new to a fairly tired 'zombie' genre.
I love post-apocalyptic fiction (or dystopian). One fairly recent addition to that genre that really stands out is "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. Sure, it's now overly quoted by fans of the genre, but that's because it genuinely is good - if you like your books to make you feel downright miserable 😀

I've found myself reading a lot lately, which is quite surprising considering this is the best time of the year to get video games, and I like my video games.

Currently in the process of reading Stephen King, the book called IT. Long ass book, but a good one.

Anybody else finding themselves reading a lot latley? If so, what?

Have you seen that tv movie version of IT? I read the Langoliers & The Mist, and seen both of their respective movie versions..

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo right now, followed by The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest. I've got a book on Bob Dylan and In His Own Write by John Lennon. And I also have yet to finish The Tao of Pooh, Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich, and 2010: Odyssey Two.

Just finished:

King Leopold's Ghost: A Story of Greed, Terror, and Heroism in Colonial Africa - Adam Hochschild

Currently reading:

Before the Storm: Barry Goldwater and the Unmaking of the American Consensus - Rick Perlstein

Special edition, post-modern translation.

Just checking to see if you're awake.

I have not read Whip Smart yet. If your book has any tickling, please advise!

Funny thing is, you'd think a master or dominatrix would of course tickle his/her submissive, having the sub tied down. But I hear very little about it when reading such accounts.

I can speak from experience that luck doesn't like to be tickled, and she's a submissive. I know this because she's my submissive.

I agree how very few BDSM related books have tickling content in them, and it's a shame, too.

I love to read. I choose it over watching TV. Some of my favorite authors are Vince Flynn, John Grisham and Jim Patterson. I have been reading the Alex Cross series in the Patterson novels I have about 5 more to finish to complete the series.

I read constantly. Mostly reviewing books to put on my shelves for the youngins in my classroom. I love it when I get to know a kid and before the end of the year, no matter who they are or whether they like to read or not, I'm able to pick a book they will get totally into.

Especially the kids who HATE to read. They come back to me over and over (even when I don't teach them anymore) for a book to read. I usually don't get them back, but that's kinda the point too.

Most recent book I've read is Rice Without Rain by Mingfong Ho (not truly a kid's book). I also absolutely love Dale E. Basye's series Heck: Where the Bad Kids Go. So hilarious! (The latter- not Rice Without Rain) I was supposed to get Blimpo (3rd or 4th in series) for Christmas.

Mary Higgins Clark, James Patterson, Randy Alcorn are my favorite writers.
